Mate, don't worry too much about insurance. Josh has some scare tactics. His insurance estimations are high due to his location. There are plenty of people who the same age, if not younger, who have much better quotes on the J-Spec. Just get onto Adrian Flux or call up insurers directly to get some real quotes.

I for one am younger (upcoming 21 year old also), and I've been quoted some faily good prices. I've been driving an N/A over half a year now and the TT premiums are not much more than the N/A.

Scare tactics?

I live in a good area, it might just be an area where lots of people claim on insurance.

Must be, I've seen you post countless posts about your insurance estimations, and they are simply ridiculous. I can only assume it's down to your location, because I am younger than you and I'm getting quotes that are about 15-20% of what you've been getting. And they are official quotations (phone-in, locked 30 day pre-payment) on good policies.

Ah no way but yeah it's true, I was being quoted about £3500 or a J-spec TT6. I think the cheapest I've managed to find it was £3200 but it's generally around £3500.

Sorry if I put you off OP but just check insurance for yourself and hopefully you'll get a good deal :)

Just PM'ed sky insurance to see what they say and I'll start ringing around soon. Got about a year to wait before I can even think about speaking to Jurgen so plenty of time for saving and playing insurers off against each other! :D

One way or another I will get one! Haha and hopefully just get some RLTC and drive her carefully and should be onto a winner! :D

(Don't shoot me Attero) Unfortunately Sky won't insure you if you're under 23.

A lot of the companies I tried wouldn't insure me because it was an import and the ones that would said I was too young.

I'm sure you'll find someone who will do you a good deal :)

Most will insure you if you are over 21. Your right about Sky Insurance. :)
