Harry Potter... a step too far?

Harry Potter has now become a way of life for some people. Personally, I can't stand the wizard freak but some things that pop-up just make me think...

What the hell can you get out of a Harry Potter degree?

This has all gone out of hand, and now IIRC... JK Rowling had said she might bring out a new Harry Potter book.

Blah!

Now that fees for university have gone up, it will stop time wasters going to universitys doing degrees on organising paper trays and doing a degree on harry potter books.

Instead they will get a job, or study a worthwhile course, making this course worthless, as it should be.

+1 Amen to that!

Two more press releases from the Ministry of Disinformation. All you had to do was read past the first paragraph on the link:

The Durham University module uses the works of JK Rowling to examine prejudice, citizenship and bullying in modern society.

So far about 80 undergraduates have signed up for the optional module, part of a BA degree in Education Studies.

[my emboldening]

So, it's an optional module on an Educational Studies BA. How long's a module? Six weeks? Two weeks? Is using this as a way in to study the issues cited legitimate? Who knows? The point is that it isn't a 'Harry Potter degree'. They aren't spending three years studying Harry Potter.

This post forms part of an Internet Studies degree. It's a compulsory module called 'How to avoid spreading bullshit via car forums'. ;)
