Help needed in getting my car stereo to sound like my Harmon Kardon Boom Box.

Guys,

 

I've got a Harmon Kardon boom box like the one in the image below. I would like my car stereo to sound just like it, the sound is so clear and the bass is punchy but it does not drown the mids and lows. This boom box is really something else, people always trip out that quality and loudness of this stereo.

If your wanting punchy bass you need to go for something like a 10" sub or a pair of 10's. When you go 12-15" you start getting the really deep window shatering bass.

 

You want a good set of components up the front and a sub in the back and that's really all your gonna need.

I was hoping that I would able to achieve a similar sound that I have from my boom box by just using components. I dont know how big the speakers on my stereo is but they can't be that big.

On a more serious note, you won't be able to get the punchy bass like you do from your boom box with components. What you need is a more serious setup, a small sub in the boot and some good quality components. Making sure you use a good quality headunit and wiring to make the kit work well. I have some focal components and they sound awsome, though do luck in any form of bass.
