wesmi01
Guys got me one of the above. Not that impressed. I would say it picks up a speed camera 40-50 meters if not a little less. This is my second unit as I wanted to make sure the first wasn't faulty. Any one had better results with the bell unit. Should I take it back once and for all????? efc
which cameras? the gatso? does it pick up lasers? When I looked into detectors about a year ago, the best one you could get was a Jams Laser detector. Fit into the front grill of your car and picks up laser. The clever bit is that it sends out a jamming signal to give you time to slow down. The problem with a lot of the detection units is they detect the laser when it hits your car - a little too late. wesmi01
Yep Gatso. Yes it detects laser but dose not jam, and yes by the time it tells you it will probably already be to late!!!
efc
I can't remember the place I found the Jams detector, try typing it into some search engines.

Should I take it back once and for all????? Mine is crap in London - but what the hell - who could get up to 30 anyway Outside i have found it very good - the signal starts always 75 yards out - and has reminded and saved me three times. Although admittedly not the be all and end all - so I have a radar diffuser also (never used on fixed gun yet - but picked up police in-car radar twice) Where is it positioned on the dash? - mine is up behind mirroir - perhaps on dash too low down? Matt Harwood
One of the guys on here tested a Bel 550 directly against a Snooper S5 and I believe they came out the same. 45 yards does sound a little short though. I've had an S5 and found it to be alright. As Paul says, about 70 yards generally. I'm now using the S6... Havn't decided how much better it is yet... B3any
Upgrade to the Snooper S6-R Neo, there are amazing mines saved me all the time... you can set it to show Gatso's at 1000m, 500m 400m etc.
garethrees
Get a 'Bel' I've had one for over 4 years no problems, and the range is still great, even by todays standards.
