T2 MSW
Has anyone got any experience of starting issues with a 03 mini One D? It just struggles to turn over. Battery has been replaced and is fully charged, even if car is hooked up to another battery it still wont fire. It feels like battery as you just get the click from the starter motor. put a multi meter over the battery and its over 12 V and does not drastically drop after atempting to start the car. Any ideas? Also anyone know if you can get refurb kits for the alternators?
gaz1
sounds like a sticking starter motor
T2 MSW
I thought that Gaz, but if you look at the starter motor its actually turning over, It just feels like there is not enough power for the car to fire. Of course now keep trying the battery is flat so ill have to leave it on charge. And yes the Amps rating for the battery is correct
gaz1
just thinking maybe the starter is not turning as freely as it should, try tapping the starter while turning over that can sometimes release biult up crap in the starter, if the battery is charged and giving out the correct amps it must be the starter.....err i think:D
T2 MSW
Looks like I have two issues. A faulty new battery as it won't hold a charge. So that's been replace under warranty. The other issue is it looks like the alternator is fooked as the car is drawing about 12 amps running but only putting about 5 amps back into the battery on the ground
