ok cheers mate, was gonna go there and test em but guess i got my answer!! Are the manual boxes stronger then?

Stock 6 speed boxes are bullet proof, just get the appropraite clutch. The stock autobox is 500bhp-ish limited. Boostlogic and Titan can rebuild them for silly power levels.

As mentioned I've not long had my Supra mate and having come from a big bike background I can tell you that its another kettle of fish! my supra only has around 470hp @ fly and im yet to deploy all the ponies - it seems to really stuggle with grip.... (19x10" rears with Goodyear eagle f1's) I really dont know how the guys with 500+ hp actually get the power down! must be launch control/trac control with stand alone ecu's and what not..... atleast thats what I'm telling myself as I save for one :)

good luck, have fun!

I can't understand how you have traction problems with 470 bhp. I have 630 bhp and am running semi-slick tires...when warmed up, they stick in 2nd gear at full throttle. Even on street tires, I only had slight wheel spin in 3rd gear.

Showoff ;)

As for the mentioning of the poor standard traction control, sadly its true, but you can always pick up a RLTC unit for 300-400 second hand on here (they come up a few times a year). It's far superior and has the optional extra of Launch Control....which i have :eyebrows:

Oooh, whats been done to yours? Single i take it :)

twin hybrids of unknown source mate, all mods done by the previous owner including the dyno plots at "Extreme Motorsport" on a Dastek dyno showing 471.1 @ 6244rpm / 411 lbft @ 4867rpm. tbh though wether or not its as much as 470 im not fussed - its plenty fast enough for me at the moment, some nice plans for 2011 though :)

Cheers jamie, I must admit i think the tyres are too low profile, I'm looking at getting a new set of rims/tyres for the summer when I start tracking the car. the geometry was set up recently for "fast road" use, dunno if its a good set up or not though?
