SupraMan Mk4
Overtime Plasma's have a tendancy to burn out, when compared to an LCD TV. Having said that, if you are like me and upgrade your TV every 2-3 years it wont be a problem and you will experience better picture quality with the plasma with it being 1080p. Thorin
Newer model version of ours, can't go wrong with the Panasonic Plasma's. They were second only to the Pioneers when I was looking, but half the price!

Thorin
what about LED's Panasonic do some lovely ones- im looking into it myself I'm sure they do, but LED TV's are still just LCD... just with a fancier backlight. Plasma is still a better picture as far as I am aware, not as thin as the LCD/LED ones though.
RobSheffield
How about this, slightly cheaper and free 5 year warrenty No PC in.... May go with the John Lewis offer, whats their 5 yr Guarantee like?
ivan
Overtime Plasma's have a tendancy to burn out, when compared to an LCD TV... I've had a Hitachi 42" plasma as my main TV for over 10 years now with no problems (touch wood). Got to get my money's worth - it cost over 2 grand back then. Pete
I bought one last month, got it for £499 from Comet and got quidco cash back on it too. I'm very pleased with it, the NeoPDP panel is excellent. I spent quite a long time looking into reviews and various models before settling on this model. I think it's been reduced as everyone seems to want the 3D fad.

Graham S
Newer model version of ours, can't go wrong with the Panasonic Plasma's. They were second only to the Pioneers when I was looking, but half the price! I think if I remember right, Panasonic bought Pioneer recently. They are using Pioneers' know-how to make their TV's the best, which Pioneer are! Not sure if they have started making Panasonic TV's with Pioneer internals yet though, if not it's due very soon.. Digsy
I've had a Hitachi 42" plasma as my main TV for over 10 years now with no problems (touch wood). Got to get my money's worth - it cost over 2 grand back then. Similar here. I blew £3k on a Hitachi 42" plasma back in 2003. I replaced it with a 50" Panny this year. The Hitachi is still going strong as my bedroom telly

st3ven1
Yet another internet myth. Spot on, however the half life of the plasma gas inside the tv is 100000 hours, so after you have watched the tv constantly(never turning it off) for over eleven years it then won't have as good a picture. Definitely go with the G20 as the SD picture processing will be superior to the S20. Have a G10 here and it has been superb for over a year now. As for warranty, I wouldn't get to hung up on it, as you are buying a better quality of tv. Panasonics also have a well deserved excellent reliability reputation. Dyer864
Just bought a panasonic tx-p42g20b42 from laskys.com for £599 !! as part of the comet group, i was suprised it was £100 cheaper than comet, pays to search around . peoples reviews on their aftersales is not very good, but supposed to have had it delivered friday, due to severe weather they rang saturday to explain and said they would try sunday, which i thought yeah, yeah and to my suprise 10:00am a phone call, saying can i pick it up at comet merthyr,as they can't get around the side streets, luckily enough i've just purchased a 4x4 and off i went to pick it up ! (so no bad press here) jobs a good one. (cracking T.V by the way )
