Inferno
Is it for the carbon finish you are looking for? Weight savings would be negligible on such small items! I remember having seen some, will try and find them for you
Stevo
Yeah, as above if its just the carbon finish you're after then you might be better off just having a go at skinning some yourself?
monsween
Carbonmods.com if its skinning your after @ JP, how much were your arches if you dont mind me asking? I was thinking of getting something made in CF myself and it'd be a one off and was it a one off cost or was the part size the majority of the cost? Cheers

Cheers You would have to talk to Noel, Mine cost me £2200 for the four arches but i had a kevlar skin put in mine also to make super strong, its half that cost if you have fibreglass. marcAB10
i've definately seen carbon vs overfenders before but unsure if they were just skinned.
Rob_Mitchell
that skinning is just a film cover though its not real carbon fibre replacment part, looks tacky imo
monsween
no, skinning is laying carbon fibre over a part. Its real carbon fibre you lay over and then apply resin and all that good stuff. Have a look for carbonmods on youtube

monsween
You'll gain weight using it obviously but if its for looks then its the way forward. you can even use that site to start making your own carbon stuff. IE fuse box covers and stuff. I've looked into it a fair bit, PM me if you need any more info
Rob_Mitchell
yeah just watched the vids on there site. very interesting stuff. looks like it can cause alot of headache if mucked up. ill have a think, just need some genuine overfenders now. monsween
You'd struggle to carbon that if im honest. The edges of the carbon are material and would be scrappy. Ideally you wanna wrap and hide the edges
Stevo
You'd struggle to get a neat edge. I've been doing some of this on and off on various parts and I'm currently awaiting hobbyist status to come through. Here's the mirrors I started off with earlier this year for Dyer: http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?225294-Got-my-Oem-Carbon-mirrors-!!/page2&highlight=carbon+oem+mirrors Done using the same stuff from Carbon mods. Ideally you wanna wrap and hide the edges no i want to get the spats in real carbon, then mask the bits off i want to show the carbon and paint the rest in orange, similar to jamies wings
