Shane
For some reason my laptop mouse driver keeps becoming disabled. When it happens the Synaptics icon in the bottom bar has a red X appear over it, I then have to go into control panel, use the arrow keys to select the mouse option and when I go into that it tells me it is disabled, click on enable, apply, OK and its fine until the next time. Sometimes it happens a couple of time each session, and other times it is disabled when I boot up. I have run a scan with AVG Free and the pc is a eee pc 1101 and I use the built in mouse pad. Any ideas? Could it be some piece of scum spyware virus thing that AVG free is not up to finding? I was running the full version until a week or so ago when it expired. Other than than I have not installed any new software on it or used it for anything other than surfing for ages. Thanks in advance.
Shane
Anyone please? It's driving me mad! Since noticed that if I leave the PC running and it goes to screen saver then goes to standby on its own, when I first re-start the mouse momentarily works until I start my profile, then it gets disabled. I would normally ask the blokes in our IT dept for advice but am off work now.

Willson
So something thats running is causing the problem. If you type "msconfig" into the Winsdows/Start Menu/Run... and press Enter. You can disable Start up items in there and hopefully find out whats causing the problem. And its probably worth downloading/run/scan with malwarebytes anti malware and spybot search and destroy. Probably do that first actually, as its easier.

Shane
OK well for now its working. I downloaded and ran the malwarebytes programme and despite identifying 7 problems, fixing them didnt make any difference. we did a quick google on the problem and it seems like quite a few people have had this on their eee pcs and we needed to update the driver from the eee website, we did and so far so good. Thanks for the assistance.
