AlliRR
Morning! Last night I took the supra out for a wee jaunt for fuel and I've noticed that when the second turbo comes onto boost there's a kinda pulsation in the power.... its like boost, less boost, boost, less boost...And it seems to be speed related in that the faster I go the shorter the period of 'less boost'.lol -sorry its the only way to describe it! I've kept an eye on my apexi avcr hoping to see a drop in pressure but it seems fine... Any ideas what this could be? Cheers folks,
Paul Whiffin
Is the boost going up and down? If not it could be a missfire perhaps?
AlliRR
I think its holding boost, that is - between keeping an eye on the road and watching the guage I didn't notice any boost drop. I think ill need a passenger to watch it for me properly! Missfire doesn't sound good at all!
mellonman
maybe gear box oil cold if your a auto and happens when not warmed up
bodilx6
Sounds like the valve that controls the transistion is getting a bit dull. I know it can seize but i wonder if it is possible for it to be semi seized? What you describe sound exactly like the BPU transition just slowed down. AlliRR
The car is 6spd manual mate. And its bpu (more or less) Is it possible to check what your talking about myself bodilx6? Or is it a take it to the garage job?
bodilx6
It most definatly is. Have a look here: http://www.97supraturbo.com/FAQ.html Stu's page has A LOT of info on the sequential system and a good FAQ with pics to troubleshoot after. Chris Wilson
I would look for a split or insecure hose between the throttle body and the turbo outlets Y pipe.
