Temperature. No energy. No appetite. Cold/hot sensations. Coughing. sneezing. Head is not bunged up as my nose is clear but i have sinus pain Can not walk very far. The only reason I'm on the Internet is because I'm using my phone

Yeah, that's a bad cold. Had a couple of those in my time... managed to avoid it this year so far thankfully. During the cold months the immune system takes a dive, when you would get a cold in the summer your body would fight it off fairly easily (regular cold), in the wintertime your rundown already so getting hit with the cold knocks most people for 6 ("flu").

The actual Influenza virus I have never had and I hope never to experience it as I have witnessed it and it is night and day from what most people think.

A few people off from work at the moment. The GF's aunt and uncle are off too.

Funny you should mention it, had a little bit of ear-ache today, but that could be proverbial rather than physical :innocent:

Hehe I've had propper flu before at uni and it totally levelled me and caused me to miss a coursework deadline. It was horrific I barely moved for a week and lived off chocolate digestives and orange squash. Because that's what I kept in my bedside table. I also recall eating a pot noodle when i got my apitite backwith hot tap water because i didnt have a kettle and couldnt make the kitchen. Didn't leave my 10 by 6 room appart from the bathroom which was a few paces from bed. It was the closest to jail I ever want to come lol. when I managed to drag myself the 200m from my room at uni to the teachers office she didn't believe me because i didnt have a doctors note (how i was supposed to get one i dont know) and gave me one extra day when the deadline was that day.

The mrs has had it too and had some crazy hausinations. She was terrified she would freeze to death if she took her shoulders out of the covers. (she lived in Florida at the time)

I guessed that. Strange that he would quote my 2nd reply though. In saying that, it's Matt, having a point isn't really his raison d'etre :)

The first one wasn’t as much of a show of pedantism as the first. In light of that, I thought I would quote your second post to divulge in a little bit of Scott=op baiting; it’s one of those pastimes that you can always rely on to deliver a result :)

It's a bit boring though isn't it?

Unless the result you're looking for is to annoy everyone.

I am not sure if I have flu, but then again I am a women so must be a cold. I had an awful night last night, woke up about 4 am absolutely freezing (before you mention it no I was not sleeping outside lol). Thought I was going to die, kept shivering teeth were going 10 to the dozen, manage to tuck the duvet all around me, hands had gone all numb it was an experience I have never had nor would like again. Took some night nurse and after 45 mins of also feeling dizzy and sick I drifted off back to sleep. Woke up this am sweating, very strange. Called my mum hoping for some sympathy and she just commented that her and dad have had this several times, ie get on with it

I was ill for weeks, ended up hospitalised for a few days with fluid in the lungs and swollen left lung..... turned out to be pneumonia... just got a cough now though :)

I'm prone to that fecker thanks to my Asthma. Had a small cold last year, bit of a cough etc. After a couple of days it made its way properly into my chest and absolutely floored me. After a few scans I was given the all clear but the first one threw up a shadow which wasn't fun to say the least. After a good dose of steroids etc I was on the mend but it took me about a month to get over it properly.

I'm steering well clear of anyone looking ill this time around :D

I've heard swine flu is making a comeback, just like Cliff Richards at this time of year.

I've also got a friend who has had a new kind of flu (think she called it '3 point flu' or something like that) which bundles together man-flu, tonsolitis and tummy bug, which makes you feel as rough as a badgers arse and may put you in bed for a week or so (she couldnt eat anything for 5 days), its apparently doing the rounds at the moment, hoping I dont get it.
