jackso11
I have a few queries on jacking and getting the car off the ground. Firstly, I want to jack the front right up to make sure my cooling system is fully bled since I changed the heater matrix. I think it is but not harm in checking. Problem is my trolly jack is 100 miles away and I want to do it before I drive that far, so, the standard windy jack in the boot, would one of those each side of the car be ok to jack the front end up or would they buckle when both sides are off the ground? secondly, what is the best way to get all four wheels off the gorund in a garage? I would like to do some undeside work on the car through winter so would like to get it off the gorund in the garage. Ramps or axel stands? would ramps at the front and stands at the back be ok? or would it really need to be stands all round?
Terminator
I would put it up on four stands. Avoid using the side rails unless you can spread the load over a large area. At the front the steel member behind the sub frame is a good jacking point, I use 4"X2" X 2' to spread the load on the two front rails. To check the water system, just use a cut down Coke bottle in the filler neck topped up with coolant, you will soon see any bubbles in the system. ellis
I was so worried when I read the thread title - not many men have problems in that field!

jackso11
cut down coake bottle?
Chris Wilson
It'll bleed perfectly fine if left to run up to temp with the rad cap off, and the heater set to full hot, topping up as it circulates, then leaving to cool and topping up again. I would put it on 4 decent axle stands. They are dirt cheap from most factors.
