Powerball: They're great and addictive

I got one of these for the first time about 4 years ago and had hours of fun with it. This week i decided to re-buy one as i'm getting really sore fingers in the cold so i'm trying to improve my circulation. Most people have seen these before, but for those who havent, here's a link. Brilliant fun these and they really do work very well, my forearms are killing after a few days of messing with it. What i want to know is, is there anyone else out there that have the powerball bug, and if so....whats your highest scores ;)

Mines 11,900

I have one somewhere. Messed around with it when they first came out. Hit just over 13k once. I could normally hit mid 12's on a regular basis. That was with the plastic version though, I think it's easier to get higher scores with the metal one as it's much better made.

If you go with the one i posted, they're very well made also. I've got one and its very smoothe. It strengthens your forarms and grip like crazy, the reason i stopped years ago is i used it too much and strained the muscles in my forearms. Well worth the money IMO and a good laugh with mates down the pub trying to get the highest score.

Sounds like enough people here might have one to have a competition! We could have a list like the ECU register to see who has the limpest wrist and who may be treating their wrist to extra-curicular activities! :p

I'll see if I can dig mine out later!

13,900 on a classic...

I've got the metal one now which is a lot heavier and produces a lot more force, hitting 9,500 on that..

But then I do have the grip strength as i'm a guitarist, pianist and relentless typer for a living

I'll try and get a pic of the rpm on the classic which is sat at my work desk (on hols this week)

I used to fire mine up with my left hand and swap to my right for the power, i used to get it up to 11000 with my left and beast it up to around 13-14 with my right, we used to have competitions at work but it got dropped a few to many times and doesnt work any more.

i may buy a new on now though.

just dug my out its still got my pb 11225, just had a go and could only get around the 10000 mark, i seem to get to a point where i cant rotate the thing quick enough to get any more out of it. i dont have a problem being able to grip it or even hold it steady at the high speeds just seem to reach a limit to how fast my wrist will move. any tips or techniques to get any more out of it.

This is where the technique really comes into play. The stronger your wrist and forearm the more control you can have over the ball. Even though you can grip it, hold it and rotate it fine the stronger you are the tighter the circles you can make with it while putting force into the rotation.

Very tight fast rotations are the secret :)
