Im sure someone on here has gone to Le Mans , Does anyone know the cost of going ? Would like to go next time..

Depends on how you want to do it. Chunnel & drive is probably the cheapest way. Ferry from Portsmouth/Le Harve or Caen is quite expensive (£400 ish for a car). Camping is obviously the cheapest option, but the campsites are really a carpark with a standpipe and maybe 6 toilets for 6000+ persons.

I've been going 10 years now, Camp inside the circuit and seeing/hearing the cars is the dogs danglies. Seeing these cars approach Indianapolis Corner at night at 170mph+ and breaking down to take it at 70mph is awesome!.

Even better is getting out to Mulsanne at night and seeing the cars go by at 220mph is just something i'll never forget.

And the best thing is there's never any trouble, everyone is there for the experience and are really friendly.

If you can go just once......go you won't regret it!!!

it cost us..

£50 return on Speed ferries per car

52 - Euro's for EXPO campsite ticket (1 car) bought from ACO .. got the number if you need it.. You pick the ticket up when yo turn up or for 10euro's they'll post it to you.

52 Euro's entrace ticket - which can be bought when you get there.

So if there's 2 of you per car.... works out about £80ish each.

Thats the cheapist i've found anyway..... :-)

It's hard to explain the pure magic of wandering up to Tetre Rouge with a few beers as the sun is going down with the cars screaming past a few feet away. The noise is intoxicating. When it's dark you can see the brake discs glowing and flames from the exhaust as they take the corner at an unlikely looking speed. There's nothing like it. Or watching the prototypes through the Dunlop Esses curves - the amount of speed they carry compared to the GTs is unbelievable.

Then you wake up on the Sunday morning after a few hours sleep because the inside of your tent is about a million degrees. The noise is all around you and you have a slightly odd moment when you realise they are still racing and there's still a full 8 hours left!
