ScuttleRX
Hi chaps, Im after a supra fuel pump to put in my rex, just wondering where the best (i.e cheapest ) place to get one from would be, thought this would be the right place to ask. Only websites I can find them on at the moment are US ones, there going for about $230-$240, prefer to get in UK if they are equivalent prices to save on shipping and tax. Do you guys generally get them from Toyota? I know in the back of Jap performance theres always an ad for a place selling denso pumps but I cant find a copy for the life of me! Steve
Try Vortex on this site in the traders section
merckx
Loads of us on here replace the pump on our J spec cars with a Walbro one, plenty of traders on here sell them. Or if you wanted a used J spec pump there'll be many lying around.

Cheers Andy Andy, a lot of the Supra intank pumps get swapped for Walbro 255l/hr ones, these are around £75 from memory, check Vortex website http://www.vortexpower.co.uk/
ScuttleRX
Cheers for the replies guys, from what ive read/heard the standard supra pump is a good bit of kit (supporting up to 400-500 rwhp, although this was for a rx), how come the swap to walbros, have heard some good things and some not so good things about them. Other pump im considering is the bosch

Other pump im considering is the bosch 044 The fuel pump on the UK version of the Supra is supposed to be good, not sure it's up to those power figures though. The Jap spec Supra uses a smaller flow pump, so these often get replaced with Walbro pumps as they are cheaper, flow more and easier to get hold of. ScuttleRX
ah I see, cheers for that Nic, guess it will be a uk pump i'm after then. Heres the link where I got figures from, like I say its on a rx so supra figures would more than likely be different nippondenso pump
Chris Wilson
A modded rotary turbo needs something like a Bosch 044 motorsport pump, the Walbros won't cut it. I can supply 044 pumps, but they aren't cheap.
Nic
like I say its on a rx so supra figures would more than likely be different They are also US ponies, which are a little smaller than good old UK shire horses I've only got the jap version of the Toyota epc, hopefully someone will be along in a minute with a UK version who can look up the part number for you. BTW, post some pics of the rex
ScuttleRX
sorry Nic, i'm having a bit of a hectic day which has made me a bit more to the point than usual Had the rex for about 2 years now, just about to fit a WI kit which will allow a small increase in boost hence the need to uprate the fuelling, other mods are ecu, fliters, exhaust, de-cat...most of the normal stuff. Heres a pic of the rex, you'll see the mkIV in the background, think he posts on here, i'll ask him next time I see him. Found this place stocks supra pumps, this price about right? and whats the difference between normal and motorsport?
Nic
I would listen to Chris' advice above, if anyone knows what you need he will. Nice car, I love the RX7

ScuttleRX
hello matey, not sure of the spec of the j-spec pumps so will have to get back to you after a bit of research. How much you asking for it, and it has it done much mileage?
ScuttleRX
Hi Chris, Not sure I can warrant the expense of the bosch yet, although if its the best option I might go for it, im only lightly modifed at the moment, ecu, straight thru exhuast and filters, and between 0.9 and 1 bar boost, and i'll be staying at that for a while cos new house has skinted me Im changing to slightly larger injectors to bring the duty cycle down a bit cos its getting into the 90% at higher boost settings hence the need for a new pump.
