Anyone had a RAV4 or Honda CRV?

My Mrs' wants to change her car. She needs something we can get our 12 stone Great Dane in though. She's thinking of maybe a RAV4 or a Honda CRV. Anyone have any experience of either of these cars?

She's looking to spend between 5 and 7k. It seems like you can get a newer RAV4 for your money. I'm wondering why that is. Is the CRV a better car?

Any thoughts?

my boss has a CR-V, its probably big enough, the back seats tilt so you could move them forward,

he got a 98/R plate for 4.5k, and its fully loaded, its now done 140k and never had a single thing go wrong, he loves it and says it drives just like a normal car, its quite quick too

We get a Rav-4 come in to, just as good, rarely go wrong burt think the boot is ever so slightly smaller!

oh yeh the crv has a hatch to just open the boot window and not the whole lot!

I had a 98 Rav4 for 2 years and loved it, never had a single thing go wrong. We sold it to Matt's dad over a year ago and he loves it and has never had a problem with anything. My only gripe would be the fact that the rear door opens all the way, so anything that had moved whist driving would fall out when you opened the door. Likewise if you parked on a hill-as soon as you open the door you lose everything. I only sold it because I wanted something more normal and that didn't use so much fuel (so I now have a Scooby turbo :D )
