SupraDan24
Hi guys, ive recently removed my Do-Luck spoiler which, sadly, was just bolted on and not sealed in any way. As a result, ive been left with these minging black outlines of where the spoiler used to be. Can anyone suggest a product that would definately remove this (ie someone who has encountered the same problem). Ive tried T-Cutting it and it had no effect at all. Secondly, can anyone tell me what the correct product for sealing the new spoiler is and whether you just simply apply it to the base of the spoiler then clean up the excess? Lastly, this is slightly harder to explain as i forgot to take a photo, once i had the old spoiler off, there were squareish bits of blue plastic pretruding from where the spoiler was, are these anything to do with the stock spoiler and should they be removed when fitting a TRD? I realise these might be basic Q's, but i want to get it right first time, not trial and error. Pic's are below. Cheers guys, Dan ps the TRD looks better on the car than my Photoshop effort lol
Jurgen-Jm-Imports
if its some sort of glue sealent, then use some tar and glue remover and also a rubbing compund like G3 should sort it.

Make sure the car is spotless once you are finished though. Petrol might burn into your paint if it stays there long enough.

Samurai 20V
Use Eucalyptus oil with a cloth or soft brush, removes tar so this should be easy... After that wash it off with normal car wash shampoo, no damage to the paint... Here is a pic of it in action on my rims... http://i155.photobucket.com/albums/s298/Rajeevjagath/DirtyRim1.jpg http://i155.photobucket.com/albums/s298/Rajeevjagath/DirtyRim2.jpg http://i155.photobucket.com/albums/s298/Rajeevjagath/Oilinprogress1.jpg http://i155.photobucket.com/albums/s298/Rajeevjagath/Oilinprogress.jpg http://i155.photobucket.com/albums/s298/Rajeevjagath/FullyCleanedRim.jpg GOod luck! Rob_Mitchell
bit of thinners would remove that, then g3 compound.
SupraDan24
bit of thinners would remove that, then g3 compound. I've got white spirit, would that do the same job? I was going to use it before, but i was worried about it removing the paint around the area.
SupraDan24
Update: I tried Petrol, thiners, Eucalyptus oil lol. Nothing even looked like it was going to move it, so i decided to bite the bullet and use some 1200 wet and dry. I managed to virtually all of it off within about 30 mins of graft, i used some G3 conpound on it afterwards to bring back the shine then waxed it to protect it. Here's a before and after shot, i'm alot happier now.

SupraDan24
Cheers guys, i'm really happy with it. Just going to re-spray my TRD then fit it. Does anyone know what those yellow plastic bits are for? I'm guessing they're something to do with the original spoiler? They're going to have to come out either way as they're fouling on the TRD. evinX
the stock spoiler has 2 bolts and a locater in the centre, which that yellow thing is for. When fitting the new spoiler, get some decent silicone, i used windscreen sealer, apply it from the top of the boot around the holes and the bottom from the inside, tighten the bolts and that will prevent water from getting in:) good job dude!
