lightwave
Does anyone else have difficulty in the HOT - BLOODY HOT - weather, getting their fuel cap undone? Is this a normal thing? The light was on, so I stopped at Shell. But there was no way that fuel cap was going to come undone. So I had to limp home, very slowly. I think I'll have to carry a monkey wrench or something in the car just in case.

Err, and perhaps a can of petrol wouldn't be a bad idea. Dumb ass, why didn't I think of that earlier?

Dumb ass, why didn't I think of that earlier? a can of petrol wouldn't be very helpful in getting the petrol cap off but it wouldn't have been a bad idea to buy one while you were at the petrol station mind you

lightwave
Right, found the solution - no monkey wrench required. PUSH the cap into the car as you turn it - it comes off really easily. Empty tank, hot day, high pressure... and it's off. No problem. HTH

Every garage here has half a dozen attendants ready to fill your car for you (I'm old enough to remember this happening in the UK.) problem is whenever I'm in the UK now I just sit on the forecourt in my car waiting for someone to fill my car up.... it can get a bit tedious after the first couple of hours wait....
