Does the Nokia have a third-party fascia (i.e. not Nokia)? Whilst the phone isn't "fake" with it fitted, in my experience it makes the phones look tacky and "fake" as they don't tend to fit as well as the Nokia genuine stuff.

Even with the above, your buyer sounds like a time-waster though.

Try selling old toys. I have people complaining that models have been repainted (Like I could be bothered) or claiming that I haven't posted the items (despite providing tracking numbers). The best to date was a French man who started a paypal dispute for the £1.50 difference between the cost of the postage and the price I charged him (On a £150 item).

I've just realised that they've been charging me a monthly reseller fee straight through Paypal. eBay Europe Sarl, was the name I googled and it turns out it IS eBay just pulling some sort of scam. My Paypal was authorised upto £60k for that name. As far as I can tell they have taken only £14 so far before I stopped it, but others have reported hundreds of dollars being taken. When these people have chased ebay, they have been stonewalled.

Reseller fees for what? They forced me to sign up for automatic payments or something last week - I hope its not the same thing?

I wanted a stock spoiler as mine has cracked down the sides and the paint has bubbled in some places. i see one on ebay that says good condition for £50 any marks or damage can be seen in the pictures. I look at the pictures, there is no visible damage or marks so i think i will have that. Gotta be cheaper than respraying my one. I hit buy it now and phone the seller. Seller then says its in average condition with scratches on that sud t-cut out. Would people sell something thats scratched as 'Good condition'? I say ok not quite as advertised. I will come and see the item before i part with money. We arrange a time i turn up. Seller does not turn up 1+ hours away. I sent an email stating i travelled at cost we sud come to an arrangement on postage and could he send further pics of the damage so i can assess. Next thing i get a non payment against me and he has not contacted me once. If the item is as he described why not send pics? I got 100% feedback over the yrs then this tw*t ruins it because he cant talk and runs like a little girl to ebay.

ebay are total crooks. Sadly tho still a good place to sell (aside from the fees) im prety sure that paypal and ebay are the same company so you end up paying them twice.

Seems to be common these days to sell and item, the buyer then complain they havent recived it (even though i have proof of postage and that its been signed for at that address) lodge a paypal dispute and get their money back.

I wont sell on there now, only buy, if anything goes wrong paypal always seem to settle in the buyers favour, so lose your item and the cash.

cheers f*ckers.

Two buyers tryed scamming me recently when I bought items off them. The items stated 2-3 days off delivery time yet two weeks went on nothing arrived. I contacted the seller she told me they were posted just wait. So I wait another week again nothing has arrived, guess what she says they arrived back too her. She tryed saying sometimes royal mail don't leave a delivery card and forget(bullshit). So she reposted them again ten days went nothing arrived. Then I threatened her if they don't arrive within the 45 days mark I'm opening a paypal dispute. Funny enough within two days off the threat message my goods arrive. She basically tryed being smarty pants and delaying it over 45 days so I couldn't claim!

I had the same thing, I sold my phone on ebay to a woman in Europe only for the person to come back and say it has not been delivered, even though i gave them all the tracking information and it was still in the delivery period they still went to Paypal to file a claim, so a few days later Paypal put my account on hold (which screwed me up on another purchase) and 3 days later they refunded her the money and requested that i pay them back. Needless to say i was not happy, no phone and £120 out of pocket !! I try not to use Ebay or Paypal for anything now.

when selling phones there is a webiste you can register the imei number with, so if its stolen you can log on and bar it from every network and basically make is useless.

have done this before when selling a phone, buyer complained they never recived it, so i said no problem i will cancel the phones imei number.

Would you believe it turned up that afternoon....

yeah they do that.

"buyer protection" fair enough, but whats with raping the sellers??

much prefer world pay, they only take 5%, rather than paypals 20%.

I will never sell on eBay, its just a rediculous sham.

Does anyone know of any alternatives to ebay?

Yup.

I now only use amazon and play.com for selling.

Surprisingly fantastic for selling. Much much cheaper. No listing fees on either.

BUT I warn you they are both v.v. strict - especially amazon. Your feedback must be very high or they will close your account and ban you for life.

You MUST without question post your item within 2 working days for amazon. No excuses or buts/maybes. You must enclose a packaging slip within your parcel (invoice etc.). If you don't adhere to their guidelines they will ban you.

And your descriptions of items MUST be accurate - none of this "good condition bar scratches" when it really isn't good condition.

But it works both ways, you always get paid and I've never had a buyer complain they've never received an item or an item isn't as described.

I hope you rang the seller only to arrange pick up. I hate buyers who comit to buying an item and think that they are within their right to then start asking questions about condition, scale, your bra size etc after entering into the contract. You should ring first before agreeing to the contract.

I had a buyer a couple of months ago who bought loads of models and then advised they didn't have the money to pay for them all. I was so angry at how little they cared I issued a small claims court claim. That got their attention.

Its turned into a right crock of s@$t. Used to be great, bargains to be had etc etc, now its full of "companies" advertising the same crap 100's of times, direct from malaysia or japan. And it's full of whining bastards who think they can get something for nothing.

I sold my bike on ebay last month, full description, loadsa pics, even honest enough to say whats wrong with it, bloke bought it, very happy, blew a light bulb a week later, leaves me bad feedback for "major electrical problems".

My advise is dont bother.

90% of the time you can get your item online at the same price if not cheaper.

I got billed for nothing. That's when it caught my eye, getting a "reseller fee" for a month when I had not even been to the eBay website. I guess they jsut try it on. A few dollars per month from millions of eBay sellers generates a fair old income.

Check your paypal and eBay subscriptions and delete anything that looks automatic.

It's overrated mate. Plus you don't need to be a solicitor to fill in a form. There are plenty of guys on here which have made small claims court claims.

Doh, I checked through all the eBay billing and it was all legit after all. Now I feel a fool as I sent off a stroppy email.

Mind you, I'm sure they can take the abuse.

Love it :D
