Lude
i jump started my gfs battery last week, in the dark. (megane) i accidently put the terminals on wrong! it drained my battery (which was fine) within seconds. (corsa) i bump started it, and its been fine since, but tonight its dead does this permanently damage the battery? or does it need a good charging? or have i damaged anything on either car? JustGav
Wrong as in the wrong way round (+ to -) sort of thing? Eeek, could range from nothing to a nasty set of gremlins to trace.....

Matt H
Problems could range from nothing to having blown a fuse, to doing something like damaging the ecu. Depends on the car. I'd hope new ones would have protection from this sort of thing though.
Lude
hmm well both cars are running, and the alternator is working as its charged the batt back up? but maybe the batt has lost its charge or something, il put the charger on in the house, maybe i got lucky then! SupraP-Z
measure the voltage of the battery when disconnected from the car...should be floating at high 12's or more if healthy. When checking the battery while the engine is running the voltage should be at around 14.4/14.5 volts DC. If this is the case...all is well
