Matt H
Where's the logic in that? I believe in certain unseen "supernatural" things so I HAVE to believe in ghosts? You don't have to anything. But if you believe if something improbable, or supernatural, then surely you must to be open to the possibility of anything. Matt H
Sounds fair to me, I like ready salted crisps but not salt and vinegar, what's the difference? That's a tragic analogy. Your crisps exist and you've tried both flavours so you know for sure. Very big difference.
Septic
Septic, you're Muslim right? What does the Koran say is waiting in the afterlife? Does it say about reincarnation or living forever in a 'heaven' kind of place? I'm not questioning, I'm simply asking I don't really want to turn this to a religious thread but to answer your question, we believe in heaven and hell. But if you believe if something improbable, or supernatural, then surely you must to be open to the possibility of anything. Its your opinion that its improbable and you misunderstand the basis on our belief. Our belief isn't based on something like Pascal's wager; we don't consider what we believe to be a mere possibility.

Our belief isn't based on something like Pascal's wager; we don't consider what we believe to be a mere possibility. It really isn't my opinion that it's improbable - it's logical. No point in carrying this on though, it's impossible to reason with someone that doesn't need reason.
tbourner
Are you trying to bake my noodle? Heheh, I just love weird concepts like that. That new film coming out; Cowboys and Aliens, should be good as to wild westerners the flashing lights and gizmos will seem like 'witchcraft', even our technology would and we would laugh and say "Ha they think we're using witchcraft, they haven't heard of electricity", so we view aliens as being technologically advanced, but maybe there's another thing beyond technology that they have that when we see it we'd say "Wow look at that technology," and the aliens would laugh and say "Ha they think we're using technology, they haven't heard of mindplexing". You know? Basically we don't understand much about anything.

penguin
Another clan member joins in! We should have another simile for 'not that' .....always a pleasure anyway, getting back to the topic.... yes i do believe in the "super natural", just because science hasn't been able to prove/disapprove it's existence doesn't mean it can't exist, and i don't personally believe science in the conventional sense will ever come up with a definitive answer. ....when we are all dead we'll all see who is right

No point in carrying this on though, it's impossible to reason with someone that doesn't need reason. There's no point in carrying on with this simply because you are so condescending it renders a proper discussion with you useless. There is this thing called respecting other people's beliefs but I guess you can't expect it from everyone, especially those who have the freedom to attribute as much importance as they want to areas such as the latter saying. In any case, I don't want a repeat of the same old so-called 'debate'. Penguin, just let it be.

Matt H
I don't have much respect for religious beliefs, because frankly, I find it ridiculous. It's always amazed me that people are expected to have respect for other peoples ideas if they falled under the umbrella of religion, but it's a free-for-all on anything else. Just so you know, the idea of a higher power existing is fine with me, but not in any silly fashion that's depicted in our organised religions. Bit Ironic reading 'just let it be' from Septic. You really need to look up the definition of irony. Why is it ironic of me to say the above? Just let it be? You're the troll that keeps making topics like these basically trying to prompt responses. Then you make silly statements (which is expected of you I understand) leaving me to correct them in case someone might take them seriously. Regardless of your views towards organised religion, can you at least show some respect to the members of follow it? I think its asking too much of you. It actually says a lot about you than it does about the followers of such religion. Religion aside, you just need to be taught some manners really. I've ignored/tolerated your past indiscretions but you just keep on repeating your usual manner. Just show some respect ffs- its not hard. Try it- you might like it. I just knew you'd come back again I can't believe you ask me to show respect when you've started the name calling And you call me condensending? Oh god (that's ironic too) funny.. funny. You obviously don't know what irony is if you've just posted 'let it be' then come back with all that rubbish then questioned why! I'll highlight the areas above for you that are specifically Ironic. You've never ignored any bait I've given you, let alone tollerate it! Class A delirium On another note Septic, I think you'll make a brilliant solicitor. Purity14
Ive heard Matt H was a product of a Jewish ritual baby slaughter that ended up more like escape from Hostel; but instead of the Eyeball gouging, they ended up with half of his brain out.
