Matt H
Another insurance thread, but the question is different. My insurance is up on my runabout. I need to renew, but I’m not planning on keeping the car for a full year – possible just another 6 months, so I need to look at companies that won’t sh4ft you for leaving early. Any ideas on this front? Ta
cashpoint
It's insurance of course they're going to shaft you. All the polices i've had will give some money back but non have be on a pro rata basis. After 6 months of a 12 month policy it's usally 40-30% you may get back
Pixelfill
are you buying a replacement? if so most will switch to a new car for the duration with a minimum cost (assuming insurance risk is similar)

Matt H
P.s, how sh!t are insurance prices today?! Just been qouted £100 more (20% increase) than last year on my daily slow coach, even though I've had an eventless years driving and another years no claims. To get only 20% I had to up to volunteray excess to sky high levels. Insurance is a joke - rant, grrrr.
Havard
I don't know if Lynbrook do normal daily drives but I know that their cancellation charges are on a pro rata basis with a £20 admin fee.

That sounds good, but they haven't even qouted me on either moneysupermarket.com or confused.com. I thought I might have some scope to play around this year, but prices are just silly from what I've been getting back this lunch
Josh
That sounds good, but they haven't even qouted me on either moneysupermarket.com or confused.com. I thought I might have some scope to play around this year, but prices are just silly from what I've been getting back this lunch Nope, no points, no criminal convictions, nothing! I've had 2 crashes. One was in March 2007 which was a head on collision on a single lane gravel track which wasn't my fault and the other party accepted liability. The second was in October 2007 where I crashed into the back of a parked Sky van (yes, I know ) and so that was obviously my fault. In March next year I'll have been driving for 5 years and I'll have 3 years NCB. I live in a good area and will keep the car in a locked garage at my house overnight. It'll be used for social only and with limited mileage of 6000 miles p/a. I've no idea why it's so high, even for a stock TT with an aftermarket exhaust, wheels and suspension I'm still getting quotes over £4000. Help! You're telling me!
