Jamesy
You have 140 Backlinks form a quick check which unless he has been at it less than 3 months, is dredful. Quality of backlink is poor and the main anchor text to your site is the company name. In short, he hasn't a clue. Do u do SEO mate? Pete
First thing to do is setup Google Web Master Tools. That'll give you some good advice on your current setup. Also read the articles listed on the bottom right of that page - all solid advice to make sure you have a good basis to start from. Chasing back links is a long arduous process - there's LOTS more that can be done which will give good results.
jay_NW
What a good idea to put http://www.newport-imports.com in my signature Thanks for that! Have the link on your "KeyWord" instead of posting the URL. E.g. American car imports Hope it helps, Good luck

Angarak
You may also want to get your website listed on http://www.dmoz.org under an appropriate category.
stevie_b
You may also want to get your website listed on http://www.dmoz.org under an appropriate category. I've never heard of dmoz: do the search engines use it to compile listings?
DamanC
DMOZ is/was considered to be the holy grail of a backlink. PR8 and a collection of strictly human edited links soon let to the google directory becoming a mirror of DMOZ, where it still is. Steve - Google will use a DMOZ listing as a hight quality back link and nothing more (unless you use the directory), however quality back links form a good SERP and therefore listing. Getting on DMOZ is another story, you submit your listing and wait.....a long time! I have 2 listings on DMOZ, one was posted after about two years and the the other as soon as I became an editor
DamanC
To add, DMOZ has kind of been watered down over the years. It would be batter to have 10 relevant links than a single DMOZ listing. 90% of sites will never make it onto DMOZ.
