RobD
Is there a special procedure to change the diff oil on a diff fitted with a cooler? I've heard that you've got to pin out a couple of pins to run a pump or something like that? Has anyone done this? If so what pins are needed to be bridged and what else do you need to do? Dnk
The main thing is make sure the filler bolt will undo before you do anything else. I just undid the drain plug on the diff and let it drain, i had a problem with the cooler as it fell apart so i just removed it and looped the pipework together. I have a new cooler including pipework but not got round to fitting it yet.

Rich8v
In the service manual, for refilling the diff it says; NOTICE: For differentials with oil cooler system, check the oil level again after operating the pump to send oil to the cooler. Then in the diff oil cooler system description it also says; When the differential oil is being replenished, connecting terminals OP2 and E1 of the check connector when ignition switch ON causes the oil cooler pump to operate for 90 -/+10 seconds so that oil also flows to the oil cooler.
