Looking at a good pre workout meal/ drink and have been reading up on a product called Jack3d, anyone used it? i was all set for buying some but have read some mixed reviews, most say its good but then there are some scary reports of side affects.

I normally just have my evening meal and then I am on kre-alkalyn taking 2 caps 90 mins before i train and have a glucose drink 60 mins before working out which is giving a good pump but thats it, im after something to give me a bit of an extra boost.

I used to train in the morning but i have switched to evenings and i'm finding it quite tuff after doing a full days work etc.

Any advice.

I only take 2 BCAA's, 25g Protein.

If you aint pumped after your training well, you aint training hard enough. SIMPLE.

Post Workout - 25g protein Slam, 4 BCAA's, Home 40mins later Dinner. :D

Cheers mate.

I am really pumped after my workout but during i feel a lack of energy, like a dead feeling in my muscles and was wondering if a pre workout meal would help, rather than just me tea and some creatine. Im only doing 3 days a week so not like i have overdone it.

dead feeling in your muscles means you've work them to failure dude, i did chest and arms last night. I was doing negative training, and lifting 60g bench slowing up and slow down is no joke, im in agony today. Same with bi's, i was curling 10kg FFS. :D

you could try Taurine caps, gives a similar pump like a pre work out drink with no bloated feeling, But TBH i dont bother, i just do as above is previous post.

All these fancy supplements are there no make money, only some are actually any good to use TBH. Solid food all the way :D

What are you eating for your dinner? If its a heavy meal you may be down on energy as your body digest your food.

May be worth having the glucose drink during your workout as you may be coming down from the sugar hit if you drink it 60 mins beforehand.

Last night i had skinless chicken with rice around 1.5 hours before training, then an orange 45mins before.

Might try and do as Purity said and go back to morning training as i felt so much better and felt like i could do alot more.

GEO, i do try to eat 'solid food' but sometimes end up feeling bloated even if the meal was quite a while before.

First of all i apologies for my short post, was on skype to the missus and im useless at multi tasking

On the circuit in Iraq alot of the lads hit the gym hard to stop themselves going crazy. I train usually between 5 and 7 in the morning due to work and i do find that Jack3d really helps. I usually take it around 20 mins before my workout and IMP it does exactly what it says. You do feel alot more pumped when going into the gym and alot more focused. It will help push out that one or two extra reps, or put on that little extra to your max.

Although, it will only help for around 40-50 mins and about an hr or 2 after your workout you WILL have a crash. Due to the lack of decent food where i am i do rely on Jack3d and protein shakes, when at home, not so much. Beware as well, when taking Jack3d you will find the days you dont take it extra hard. You will also find yourself taking more and more as your body gets used to it. I recommend giving it a try, like a say, everyone i know who takes it has a good opinion and i myself have nothing negative to say about it

Off training myself now due to a torn delt. Back in the gym next week!!

See all the good reviews say what you have said, but then there have been a couple of negatives aswell, check out post 3 i think it was in this thread.

If i can get a decent meal down me that doesnt leave me bloated for the workout then i'm sorted, Geo pointed me in the direction of getting digestive enzymes which i have had a look at and orderd so will have to wait a few days to see how it goes with them.

Its a case of finding out what exactly to eat.
