Sharpe
Right well one of the shocks on my Supra has decided it no longer wants to do it job and so I'm thinking now might be a good time to upgrade. its currently riding high on stock shocks/springs and I want to lower it anyway but would like some advice on what options are available and also recommended setups under £1k The car itself is a Jspec TT running BPU with around 400bhp. Thanks an advance.
mwilkinson
I would consider BC suspension if your looking for a budget setup. Alternatively, Mr Wilson does a good setup using a revalved stock dampers for around £1200+. Other alternatives would be Tein Super Streets, HSD etc.. Have a look at the traders pages and see what you think. I have Tein Mono Flex with EDFC. Its a very expensive setup and not really needed for a road car. It is quite firm depending on the damper setting but I prefer it over the stock suspension as I feel the car is more stable. It's expensive (and apparently very good) for budget suspension, but is relatively inexpensive compared to a similar Ohlins, Bilstein, Aragosta or Nitron setup. Side by side, the difference in finish would be very apparent.

bodilx6
+1 for the CW suspension. I have had mide for 1½ now and i cannot fault it in any way unless you do a lot of track driving. And if you do, he has a setup for that as well. As a bonus, if you let him fit it, he will also do a geo for you
Chris Wilson
What I really don't want to do is lower the car very much, as without very expensive further modifications it will kill the handling. My kit is designed to work with a 15 to 20 mm front drop and about a 10 mm rear drop. If you tell me to I'll set it up on its bump stops, but don't shout when handles like a dog I have had 2 cars (not Supras...) in here very recently with ultra low mileage, but also ultra *uggered BC dampers on. cravo
+1 for the CW setup+geo here too. Transformed the handling of my car, and gives a much better ride than when it was lowered (it was on awful gmax lowering springs beforehand).
