ronttuk
Our delica has been written off seeing as the Mrs did nothing but moan about it since we got it I said she can choose our next car, She fallen in love with a 2003 Megane 1.9 dci 87,000 miles loads of service history, the one with the big arse ( I think it reminds her of herself) , How reliable are these I know they do about 50mpg with the 6 speed manual gearbox, Does anyone know anything about these cars?? ozz
We've got one, 53 plate. I hate it, won't drive it. Just find it really nasty to drive, gearing, pedals. Does perform well but is a complete shed. Missus seems to like it, we keep it around because its nice to have a cheap spare car in case our others need work. L18msy
I used to have an 05 plate for the missus. It was plagued with electrical issues and other annoying stuff, i wouldn't have another. I was getting it valeted one day and all the windows went down themselves and wouldn't go back up. It had to go into the dealer to get a window regulator and door wiring harness fitted. Then the turbo went, then then the egr valve, then the manifold broke ended up in the dealer for quite a while. The engine light came on from time to time with various faults. I ended up trading it in and about two weeks after i got a call from the salesman saying i was lucky as the engine was knackered. I might of just had a bad one but i have heard of electrical issues being a problem.
Awisto
You'll either get a good one, or a very bad one. I'd look elsewhere personally. 6+ years in Roadside Assistance, my job sheets were always full of French motors!

mistertwo
evidently thats done through the wheel arch Yep. I think there was a piece on fifth gear about it. They had asked a mechanic to change the bulb as quickly as he could - ended up with him having to remove the wheel (I think) and taking another twenty minutes or so. EDIT: here we go: Also, I notice that's a 2008 car, don't know if it difers to the model you're getting?

Thats a VERY common thing. Or I should say thing(s). Google the renault 1.9dci engine and spend an evening reading all the horror stories! Oh dear. My son is currently looking to buy a Saxo VTR CJ, they are fine, they don't really have many problems, just whatever you look at, make sure the brakes feel good as they tend to always feel shite! Personally, i'd say a far better choice than the VTS. And obviously try to find one that's not been abused by some chav if you can!
Graham S
Try replacing a headlight bulb if it goes I got that down to a fine art! Try doing the same job on a big butt scenic! they don't have the cut out in the wheel arch!

Swampy442
Being a french diesel its going to have a great engine, but the rest of the stuff bolted to it will be suspect lol. Friend of mine had one and it had problems with the hand brake but he's since got another and has had no issues.
