Doughie
Nic what slip setting are you intending to use on wet roads ? I would advise 5% max. at first. 10% slip you can get the car seriously sideways on a wet road. I know, cos i have ! Just experiment (safely) if you can on a wet roundabout early in the morning or similar when there's no other cars about. As i say, you need to adapt to how the car reacts to different levels of slip being dialled in. and if you pile *into* a corner too quickly, then RLTC cannot save you as it basically controls power oversteer, and can't help if you've piled in too quick. it's good, but just don't think you're invincible with it cos ..........you're not. MONKEYmark
sounds like its a lot of fun cant wait to get mine installed,i have had back end out a couple of times on my supra, hope it gives me more confidence in the wet, i always back off the power in wet and sometimes in dry too, still trying to learn to control power have fun the RACELOGIC traction way
Phil Wall
Nic, If you look at the file I sent you with Grahams little app, you will see the slips setting are lower than 5%, 10%,15%. I think they may be 3%,8% and 13%. This gives a little advantage, but I agree with the above post, 10% in the wet is not enough, the back will go out if you give it too much on this setting. It just allows too much rotational slip and the wheels loose lateral grip and away it goes. I only use the WET and 5% switch position in the wet in traffic. If you use Grahams app to monitor a drive, you can see the system act when you can't feel it. RL improves get away and cornering speed but can't help you change the laws of physics. It helps you keep the power where you want it.
Nic
Thanks for the concern guys, don't worry I won't go too mad I have had some fun though gradually testing the limits of the RLTC over the last couple of evenings on some quiet wide stretches of road. Before I had the TC fitted I was getting a lot of wheel spin accelarating in 1st and 2nd after fitting the cams, FMIC and boost controller so accelarating out of corners was always a bit of a balancing act in terms of grip, what the TC has done is raise the limits of grip so you can exploit a bit more of that power on the exit. As you say though Dougie if you enter a corner too quickly no electronic gizmos will save you. cheers

When did you purchase the kits as I believe the later kits now have takne into account that the Supra is a 6 cylinder rather than a 4?? Just wondering what to expect from the basic set up as I'm having it installed tomorrow. To everyone else, does anyone know when Racelogic first updated their system to cover 6 cylinder cars? Matt I see that you and Phil found that was the case with yours. Cheers for any help:thumbs:
GavinL
Why don't you message Phil Wall and see if he can give you the correct file for your car. I think it would be easier than guessing and finding it wrong on the day IMO regards....
Darren S
Hi Gavin, Phil has already kindly sent me through the file but I am keen to know as I won't be able to link the t/pad up for a week or so to tune it correctly. Also, such info may help the guy who's installing it for me so that he knows what to expect. Cheers:rolleyes:
Nic
Darren I purchased a RLTC from Justin about 3 months ago and the car ran fine when initially fitted. Once I loaded Phil's file, it worked a lot more effectively best money you can spend on your Supra and will pay for itself in tyre life in a year or so. You should be fine for a week, if you do have problems you can turn it off until you can load the file. If it still causes problems in the off position it is very easy to unplug it from the ECU. cheers Nic
