HKS 256 Intake, 264 Exhaust Cams

Iv got a set of these that are with Lee just now. Now i know most folk Run 264/264 whats the up and down side of running the above setup?

 

Or will there be much in it??

I doubt there will be much in it TBH. You will just have slightly less duration/lift on the intake side thats all.

Not much tbh. Id say the losses will be marginal at best as there isnt a huge difference between the spec's if i recall rightly although every little bit of lift helps.

 

I doubt you would notice much difference if you dropped a 264 on the intake later down the line

That's the spec I use to run on mine when bpu and later with the GT35R.

Are you upping the revs Geo? If you aren't cranking them up I don't think the cams will really matter that much.

I think you'll have a good midrange with those and hold a bit more power to the red line vs stock cams. Certainly won't lose much, if anything, on idle.

i'll give them a test bud, see what there like? if i dont like them, i will change them at a later date.

Going from stock to 256in 264ex gives a huge difference above 5500rpm - the engine breathes freely and makes good power all the way to the redline, whereas stock cams kinda choke up above 5500 and you can feel a power dropoff. I'm not sure what difference going to a 264 intake cam would make, it'd be interesting to find out

 

Idle gets a bit lumpy but nothing bad. You'll need to map for the better breathing up high, don't just drop them into a stock ECU controlled car.
