probrox
My dishwasher has just started playing up. It is starting a cycle but only seems to get 3 or 4 minutes in before it gets stuck. When I open the door it has cold water in the base and nothing inside is wet yet. Its a Siemens Avantguade if that helps. I've had a look round on the net and a common problem seems to be a float switch or anti leak device. Unfortunately I can't find either of them so I thought I'd ask on here. Not your normal help request i know, but i thought it would be worth a go:)
pedrosixfour
Whenever my dishwasher starts acting up I usually need to retrace my steps in an attempt to figure out what I did to piss her off in the first place.

Wez
Check the drain pipe and also make sure the door is staying shut properly. I had to fix mine last weekend, turned out to be a door issue, the chassis wasnt sitting straight and popping the door enough for it to trip the program

pedrosixfour
Awaits the wrath of Charlotte............ Ha, you should've seen what I typed first but had a change of heart. This is as good as I get. Plus I even admitted it was probably my fault she went all wonky in the first place. Thats progress in any language. probrox
I'm going to give it another go in the morning, fed up with it now. Time for GT5. I'll check the door and water inlet first. I'm pretty sure its not the pump because it all drains out if I cancel the program completely.

Chris Wilson
My dishwasher is playing up tonight, too. I think she's starting a cycle, too. I opened the door just now and got a cold stare. I think I'll go to the pub.
Westcoaster
Pull it out and take the rear cover off it, the float on the Bosch dishwasher we used to have was effectively an expanded polystyrene block which when water leaked into the base area hit a switch that stopped it working. Bosch and Seimens and Neff machines are pretty much identical in my limited experience! IIrc, it was a blocked drain hose that caused the waste water to back up and leak passed the pump seals on ours. So if I were you, I'd check the waste water pipes are clear first, before you do anything else!
