The Raven
Roll cage, well that should have given him a chance. Hope he is ok.
Scott
Roll cage, well that should have given him a chance. Hope he is ok. They can also be fatal when a crash helmet isn't used. A half cage would be far safer. Fingers crossed regardless.

marc_p
I think so, I think it had the standard insulation style padding. I only remember it because of the cage, as it was quite a nice one that went around the dash rather then through it.
Suprab1
Very bad news, hope all involved are ok.

Very true and have sadly seen this happen, insulation style padding helps a little but isn't anywhere near good enough, it's mainly there to stop you bashing your helmet or your head when you get in and out of the car. I had it in my Range Rover on a full cage, i clonked my head on mine once and it ******* hurt so i cant see it doing a lot in a major roll. I hope not, that stuff is no way near dense enough to protect your head, if you have a cage and parts of your body are exposed to it then it should be wrapped in proper FIA approved padding. Terminator
Oh no not again, I hope every involved is OK. Probably, irrelevant, but the car I got Nic a head from years ago, had been stolen and rolled a few times, the passenger and driver compartments were still OK. Well done to Nic for the link to Doug's post. Take care people, drive according to conditions, leave the lead shoes at home and expect everyone else on the road to do the unexpected.
