Supra Gaz
I have had a good search on the Internet but can't find the answer I need! I have a Viper 480XV alarm fitted to my Supra which has just decided that it isn't going to unlock the doors when I press the 'unlock' button. It locks when I ask it to and sets off all of the other functions as it should. So, does anyone have any experience with these things? Any advice? Cheers Edit: I have had a look at it, it all looks fine, I'm confused, also I have noticed that when I unlock the car with my key (which has a cool light around the lick I hadn't noticed before, I love this car) it only does the drivers side, I have to lean across and in lock the passenger side. The misses says she was pulling the door handle when I was trying to unlock it last by remote and that's when it stopped working. Has anyone else had a problem like this with the central locking? Any help would be great Cheers
chrispot
could be faulty connection to the unlock wire, i think that most alarm installers connect the unlock wire from the alarm module to a door unlock wire by the drivers kick panel, do you have a wiring diagram for the alarm, do the doors unlock using the button on the door panel, check wire by drivers kick panel unlock wire should be green/red if i can remember correctly, hope this helps. regards Chris. Supra Gaz
Bump for help! First post updated
Supra Gaz
Another bump, oh and if it helps, the button to lock the doors on the drivers door is only locking, not un-locking, it's driving me mad!
Supra Gaz
Another bump, I'm thinking it may be a fuse. Does anyone know which fuse controls the central locking?
Supra Gaz
Just incase this happens to anyone else. Check your fuses, specifically fuse 23.
TJP
Not sure if this helps but I had this problem with the supra at the beginning of the year, think mine is to do with the weather, anything below 3 degrees and the central locking system starts to play up, had to physically use the key to unlock and lock. There is a thread about this on the forum.
Supra Gaz
Cheers, I have had a look around the car, pulled up carpets, removed the door trims, dash etc, I finally had a moment of sense and looked up the fuses and all of the things that don't work, the door lights, light around ignition barrel, the key hole light in the door handle and the boot light were all out and what a suprise, they are all controlled by the same fuse. Just shows to look for the simple things before jumping in with spanner in hand!
