Swampy442
If its running rough its not glow plugs, if its starting rough its the plugs...
SUPRALOOPY
Glow plugs = 1.3 hours but add a bit on. If its running rough try the filters etc..

Westcoaster
, now i find they are an absolute pig to get to and im looking at a mechanic taking 2-3 hours just to change the plugs at god knows how much . as the thread title says its not like the germans to make a mistake like that:( Off topic, but 'fantastic' German engineering requires the whole rear body work and rear side windows to be removed to change the spark plugs in my Smart Roadster Coupe! It adds 1 - 1 1/2 hours to the job!
peter richards
you think things like plugs should be accessible on any car /van

Chris Wilson
I presume people have stripped these and put daft big bike engines in them like they have done with the old Smart cars? I think they look quite quirky myself, but know nowt about them.

The engines are 699 cc 3 cylinders and have 6 spark plugs. Mines is the standard 82 bhp, but it is relatively easy to change intercooler pipes and remap it to a reliable 115 bhp. But why bother, when I have a TT Supra to play with!
Suprab1
I find VW put things in the way of alot of the most common parts for servicing. The lexus is 220d is a nice car for servicing (except the fuel filter).
