Lol. It's a piece of sh!t..

If it's supposed to be a singing contest then it's failed. The X Factor haters have won by keeping him in.

I hope this is the last series. I hate either not being able to go out at the weekend because people want to watch it or having them catch up on it in the week. Who cares?!

By keeping someone in that can't sing it's like keeping the token puppet for the public to play with. There's always been someone like it. Chicco, Jedward, some would argue the winner guy Steve whatever his name was couldn't sing.

People need to be outraged these days so that's the most suitable thing at the moment.

Better they get outraged by a karaoke competition than something that really matters I suppose. :)

I wonder if anyone takes it seriously any more (i.e. believes it isn't manipulated by the producers)? It seems a bit like the televised wrestling in the 80s/90s in that it's manipulated for maximum viewer enjoyment.

I voted 3 times for Wagner (pronounced Vagener) over the weekend. I'm not sure if the reasons he is getting so many votes are the same as mine or not.

For me the show has turned into a complete farce. It has gotten progressively worse over the past few years with all the little mind games and in-fighting. The fact that Louis put in Wagner in the first place just shows how much of a farce it has all become. Not to forget Cheryl picking those 2 warbling freaks who couldn't get past any of the auditions without bursting into tears or croaking.

It was after those picks that I initially got pee'd off. What is the point of it all? They clearly had their minds made up wayyyyy before that stage. If they hadn't then those choices wouldn't have been made and a couple of talented people might actually have been given a shot.

And then I wondered why Wagner was getting through. After the first 2 weeks I spotted some people commenting on Facebook. I then spotted that the group that was behind the RATM Christmas no.1 had started a new campaign for Wagner to get through........ to show just how much of a popularity contest the Xfactor was rather than a talent show.

Sooo, the bandwagon I then jumped upon and I've been voting for him ever since.

They need to come up with a system where the most talented person wins. Leon Jackson is a prime example. How the hell he was picked over Rhydian (SP?) I'll never know. The fact that people say "he wasn't liked" sums it up for me, it isn't a popularity contest FFS. It's also the reason that it is very rare that a girl or girl group will win. Leona and Alexandra being the exception to the rule, but only because they were head and shoulders above the rest, not to mention Alexandra's touching story about not getting through the first time (boo hoo). Girls will tend to vote for the "Cute" boy(s) regardless of how dreadful they are, and Girls will always be the more prominent voters in any competition like this.

To sum up, the reason Wagner keeps getting through is the guys want a laugh and to make a mockery out of the whole show, to wind up Simon Cowell and all the girlies in their lives who care about who goes through and who doesn't.

I think Cheryl and Simon should have a pretend spat. Then Simon gets really angry and rips off his clothes to reveal a spandex bodysuit underneath. He pulls Cheryl over from the other side of the judges' desk, goes to Irish Whip her into the compere, but doesn't let go and turns it into a solid clothes line. BOOM! Simon jumps up, ready to land a guillotine across Cheryl's upper chest, but Cheryl rolls out of the way just in time. Whilst Simon is on the floor injured, Cheryl slaps a figure-4 leglock on him, trying to flex his knee joint in a way God did not intend. Simon taps out and Cheryl gets the submission, gloating at Simon whilst they play her "signature tune".

Maybe, just maybe, if that happened people would realise it's a bit fixed.

Surely in caring as much as you clearly have to be 'annoyed' by it all - you in turn are caring as much as those who care about who goes through and who doesn't?

You've said it's not a popularity contest but you've also proved that that's all it is!

The show has always been a farce - it's entertainment, do you really think Louis fights with Simon backstage? Strictly is the same - although they are already celebs so it's not really as important to them.

If a handful of people on x-factor get some exposure for it then fair enough. I've said it before but I'd much rather see a campaign behind a little known band/singer who write their own material/are unsigned - to get to number 1. It could be a great contest (each year) to expose some of the indie greats amongst us.

It's the contestants who are fragile that I feel sorry for. Well, feel sorry for is the wrong phrase but I personally think they will be most damaged by it all.

Imagine being 17 and having story after story written about you, just for appearing on tv each week. It's a sad state of affairs.

You are mistaken if you ever thought it was a singing contest.

It's not a talent contest and it's not even a 'who really does posses the X factor?' contest.

In the end, it's merely a popularity contest, which makes for a good bit of tv...now & then.

It's almost like forgetting its a farce at the beginning for me I guess. I just hope that they are going to see the light and run the competition as a talent competition, rather than a popularity contest. I don't really care who goes through and who doesn't, what I do care about is whether they are talented or not. So yes, I do care to a degree... but only enough to have an opinion on it.

It isn't meant to be a popularity contest, clearly that's exactly what it is though. And yes all these shows are exactly the same. That warbling muppet on the Jungle show is a prime example, she is only popular in the voting because everyone hates her and wants to see her suffer more..... which is fair enough I suppose.

In saying that I would guess Cowell and the other investors couldn't care less about what people think of their shows, as long as they get millions of ££'s they will keep on bringing it.

Wagner winning the XFactor would maybe show the likes of Cowell how much of a farce their show is.... would he care though?
