Kalel
I'm going to give it a crack as soon as I get the part, did the one from that site fit ok? Plus how on earth will I remove the gas from the air cooling system? (drain the coolant?) I figured this, the led dash & controller mod as a xmas gift for the car.... Along with the hks ssqv, 2nd decat, new billet alluminium light weight pulley set... all parts ordered except tge bleeding matrix!
shaz2010
LOL ... matrix is ordered coming tomorrow will fit on wedensday, will let you no if it fits. Been told by someone it will fit on the other owners site.
Kalel
Is it alot cheaper than oem from mrT? But I must say, good job. Looks scary. Ima use jezz's guide. Looks very useful & will def come in handy.
JS2004
The demister one should fit yeah - and cheaper than OEM from what ive gathered. If you dont want to replace it and dont mind driving with no heating you could alsways just block the pipes leading to the matrix with a bung. Ill be blocking mine off until the weather gets warmer to mess around with it as I dont have the luxury of a garage. Do you get smoke from behind the dash when the heating is on also Kalel? I turned my heating on after engine was warmed up and was greeted by a load of black smoke from the vents!
Kalel
No smoke or anything mate, just bloody freezing air! I mist say I'm mo expert but my ones a very minor leak, if I top up my coolant I'd get about 1 hour of hot air then it dies out... An my coolant from the expansion bottle=gone.... Carpet wet I haven't a garage but the drive seems fine. If I do it on my day off, I can spend a good 8hours on it (more if needed)
Kalel
assuming I'd need to drain the rad fluid, could I re-use? (it's only about a month old) plus if I gotta drain, I might aswell replace hose'ing with some sweet silicone ones!
JS2004
Yeah I wasnt too sure on the rad fluid but assuming it needs to be drained. Im going to block mine off before I replace the matrix though, so at most I should only loose a bit from within the heater matrix itself. What a pain in the rear this is gonna be though! Im going to use sandwich plastic bags and number them, so as I take part 1 off it goes in bag labelled 1, and so on - that way I can work backwards through the numbers. Who said Lego would never come in handy!

Kalel
I hate that I fix one thing and another thing goes... Hopefully the heater matrix will be last "fix" then all mods!

jon_dragon
I tried one of those demisterman matrix's and it didnt go in far enough so the clips didnt go on properly, you can guess what happened next
JS2004
How did you sort out the steering wheels airbag? I dont wanna set mine off by accident. Also we got any more feedback on the demister matrix and fitment?
shaz2010
Hi js2004 the demister matrix fit well, the only thing was the origonal one is little bit bigger only by 5mm still fit in nice .As for the airbag mine has not got one! steve b mate yeah there were a few things jezz left out but just the odd clip here and there also my alarm was in the was off the crash bar that stopped me removing one of the 12mm bolts so if something is in your way and not on jezz walkthough then its most likely to be an add on extra. if you get stuck just give me a pm.
