evinX
Hey all, would like some advice on some wheel and tyre sizes, the ET are my main concern, the stock ET is 50, so should i be going for the ones closest to 50? Front, sizes available, which ones should i get? 18",width 8", holes 5, PCD 114mm, ET 30mm or 18" width 8", holes 5, PCD 114mm, ET 42mm - Im thinking i should go for these? Rears, sizes available, which ones should i get? 18", width 9.5", holes 5, PCD 114mm, ET 38mm or 18", width 9.5", holes 5, PCD 114mm, ET 42mm - Im thinking i should go for these? Tyres, would these sizes i picked for the front be ok and which rears should i go for? Fronts, 235/40/18 Rears, 255/35/18 or 265/35/18 thanks, Kevin Edited November 21, 2010 by evinX (see edit history)

aman00123
If you use an online offset calculator you can work out how much further out the wheels will sit than either the ones you have on now or stock. Just put in your current wheel specs and put in the new ones and you'll see how many mm they stick out and how it affects clearance for the brakes etc too. Can go off mine if you want a very flush fit (take 60mm off the rears though) 18x12et0 (rears) 18x9.5et25 (fronts)
Tee from China
Try this its quite easy and you can compare different sizes/makes:- http://www.1010tires.com/WheelOffsetCalculator.asp
evinX
Still confused, tried the converters but still didnt give me the info i wanted, just want to know which rim sizes and tyres i should get out of the options ive posted:(
aman00123
Out of your options I would go for 18",width 8", holes 5, PCD 114mm, ET 30mm - fronts 18", width 9.5", holes 5, PCD 114mm, ET 38mm - rears Although the rears you are suggesting will fit fine on the fronts........ Also they will not sit flush but will sit inside the arches a bit
evinX
so with the ET the smaller i go the more further will will sit out? so with the stock 50 they sit inside and the 30s will sit further out??
aman00123
Yea pretty much in a simplified way, but watch your brake clearance on the inside too as the smaller your offset the less clearance you have on the inside
dr_jekyll
basicly , if you imagen a linre in the dead centre of your wheel all + et is mm towards the face so the higher the +et the further in the wheel will sit. if you go into -et the wheels will sit way out .
