Septic
I saw 3 of these cars yesterday and two today (one just drove past). I've been seeing a lot of them recently. Have the prices on these gone down a lot? I'm tempted to get a GTS-T but don't know whether they're worth it. Anyone else noticed that there seem to be more of these cars on the road? Matt H
Skyline R33 = too ugly.
j_jza80
They are cheap now, starting at under £2k. Insurance is VERY high though, and parts can be expensive (although they're well catered for by aftermarket companies) I was looking at these myself, but decided that a 200sx could do everything just as well, while being much cheaper to run and better looking IMO. Septic
I was talking to Nevin about this. 200sx or GTS-T? Hmm...
Attero
R34 FTW. Or R35... but that's in a different league altogether.
j_jza80
There's always the Soarer too...
Hobgoblin
R33 is so boring to look at. Soarer is so nautical to drive. How about the 300zx? Rare as a rare thing, and you can get a half decent one for 2k.

Rare as a rare thing, and you can get a half decent one for 2k. The 300zx is too over-engineered for my liking. It seems to be the case that you need to take the engine out of the car for the smallest thing. I don't like it in the looks department either although I have a friend who absolutely loves them. I can't find Soarers on Pistonheads and only two on Autotrader. They look quite old though in standard form.
Purity14
I would go: V8 Soarer (£1000 of spare cash will get you a nice subtle bodykit and up to date headlights and rears - which brings up to date - also the V8 soundtrack mm) then 200sx (because its cheaper to run and cheaper to fix) then R33 gtst
SamuraiFlash
The R33 GTS-T can be made to look good, in standard form they are a bit on the bland side. My mate has an R33 GTS-T and it looks similar to the pic below, i prefer the rear end on the R33 to the R34. http://image.turbomagazine.com/f/9325348+w750+st0/0608turp_07z+nissan_skyline_gtr_r33+left_rear_view.jpg
cashpoint
Almost as common as Impreza now, went on the Miss Banzai Tunnel run month or so ago and there were more skylines than any other car it seems.
Tricky-Ricky
I think you are all forgetting that the Supra is just as common these days, and the prices for them have took a big tumble in the past couple of years.

Josh
I wanted an R33 GTR but inurance was way too high, that's when I decided to get a Supra I love the look of the R33 from behind but I've only seen like 2 or 3 in the last few years. I've seen loads of Supras round by me recently though
sdistc
I would always choose a nice 200SX over an R33 every time. R33 is the fatter stupider younger brother of the R32.
Septic
Yeah if I ever got a GTS-T I would get the GTR kit for it. A mate of mine down the road has one and it does look really mean. I can't really find any Soarers for sale. How cheap are they to run?
j_jza80
I would always choose a nice 200SX over an R33 every time. R33 is the fatter stupider younger brother of the R32. I've only ever driven the GTR versions of both, so this may not apply to the GTS-T The R32 is a more involving car, there's more communication through the steering and it feels a bit more nimble and mechanical. The R33 is more refined, a little softer but no less capable. I'd say an R33 GTR would make for a better road car than the R32, the R32 feeling more track biased. The R33s interior is also a bit nicer than the R32s, but is still very poor compared to a Supra.
shima60
By far my fav skyline has to be the R32 just looks mean. http://img165.imageshack.us/img165/8708/smallp1010004mi6.jpg Not as many gadgets either haha.

R32 GTRs do look lovely. A short look through the Japanese sales sites always turns up a few stunners... This company: http://www.carsensor.net/usedcar/navistock.php?STID=CS211800&SHOP=216389001&BKKN=CU0102105743&BKKNTR=2 Global Auto (where coincidentaly, mysingle Supra came from) always have some of the nicer ones... MPG is ok, approaching 30MPG on a steady run apparently, suppose it depends how you drive Many parts are fairly cheap as there's always loads being broken, however 'Active' suspension can be expensive to fix. Thats more than my Polo lol. I just can't seem to find any for sale though. RX7's and MR2's are ridiculously cheap too these days. Mind you, I don't really fancy the hassle of the Wankel engine. garethr
There's always the Soarer too...Very difficult to find a manual. ...Soarer is so nautical to drive...Odd, then, that Toyota used the chassis for the Supra. ...I can't find Soarers on Pistonheads...Use the Classifieds Search (if it's working, the PH search is rubbish). Most are probably under Lexus Soarer.
