David P
The weather made sure that the induction pipe didn't get tacked up today. I need a full day with no rain and less wind for that job, and preferably not as cold, tomorrow is forecast to be better. The core has ended up located 6mm further back and 8mm closer to the knuckle than expected, so have moved the right bracket mounts back 6mm and revamped the left to fit them where they are easy to get at and also makes space to use a stock rocker cover on this side. David P
The weather was kind. Many acheivements today, beware photofest. For the first time, the charger has been on the car engine on brackets and without the throttle body in the way. There is space enough at the back and 26mm in and out clearance to play with, so gave the strut 15mm and the manifold 11mm, which is also the outermost limit the distributor will allow. Remounted the throttle body flange at an angle to meet air filter and tacked up a very sexy induction pipe. Front bracket clearance Rear bracket manifold clearance First section of induction pipe The adjustable fixable plate in position Total clearance achieved 26mm Chosen position Position chosen is outer limit for HT lead exit and supercharger mount Induction elbow fits sweetly at the back Must wear gloves Induction to belt clearance A very 'sexy' pipe Inclined throttle body Edited February 15, 2014 by David P (see edit history)

ripped_fear
I really am surprised this car does not get more attention on this site! The amount of work you have put into this beast looks insane! keep up the good work by the looks of the pics there seems to be light at the end of the old tunnel
David P
Thank you for the encouragement. It has been a grind. Most of the pieces are as ready as they can be for assembly, it should go together in a day. The-Plethora
Did you come up with an idea for the bonnet yet? Looking good Dave, hope it all goes together OK but expect the unexpected!
EdMorris
Just read your thread David, very interesting and well done so far. I like projects that are a bit different and yours is certainly that.
David P
Did you come up with an idea for the bonnet yet? Looking good Dave, hope it all goes together OK but expect the unexpected! I have found a 'hood scoop' in the U.S. that I am reasonably sure will make room and look good, there is a photoshop pic of it a page or 3 before. I haven't attempted guess measury, after nailing the superchager into the car I plan to cut a hole into the spare bonnet until it clears, then just have it poking out then have some proper measurements to sort the job out. "expect the unexpected!" Glass Hopper ? My only concern is the power steering pump pulley shaft and bearing, I will address that if needed. Just read your thread David, very interesting and well done so far. I like projects that are a bit different and yours is certainly that. Thank you I enjoy being original, and I read your build thread for similar reasons.

David P
The job is jobbed. The accumulated 3D jigsaw of metal components have been welded together. Just been to the pub for a beer or 3. Edited February 15, 2014 by David P (see edit history)

David P
The 3 phase lead for the TIG welder wasn't long enough to reach my designated corner outside, and the weather was rain and wind, so as a special treat I was allowed inside the workshop. The aluminium aerial pole, rainwater pipe and the leg from a folding chair were a challenge to weld, but the job's a good un. There's a couple of days tinkering to do refacing flanges, finishing off the brackets, a final tidy up with the angle grinder and a splash of paint, then need to find a belt to fit. Not forgetting a week of polishing. Once I have collected the donor N/A unit from Portsmouth, I will then begin working on the electronically controlled transmission hybrid. barneybrendan
have you tried the goodyear website as they list every belt they do by rib and size.
David P
I haven't even measured the belt yet, that job is one of the next on my list. Couple of pics of the finished supercharger bracket/throttle body mount/induction pipe. David P
Stripped it all down and gave the supercharger a good blow through with the airline, shortened the rear mounting studs and threadlocked them in. I found a forgotten piece of the jigsaw in my tool box, the supercharger bracket now has a mounting for the line feed pressure cable to the hybrid transmission. Gave the modified rocker cover a clean up, from this angle the charge cooler looks like a 6 fingered fist, that should amuse Branners. Reground the inside of the entry and exit fittings, refaced the flanges and made final adjustments to the charge cooler bracketry and hose tails. Rebuilt it all with gaskets hoses and clips, then realised how dirty the block was. Both plug and socket have been shortened and the clip guard on the plug removed, the TPS plugs on and off a treat and the loom tucks away nicely. I will replace the adjust lock Phillips heads with Allen heads. And the belt measures 102" Edited February 15, 2014 by David P (see edit history)
