David P
The plan for today was to confirm the new belt is the correct length, shim the top idler true and trial fit the N/A throttle cable to the bespoke linkage. But have chosen to pass on freezing my previously frost bitten fingers and dropped nuts disappearing into the snow. Pic of my new Borbet TTE wheels. David P
Good news; I final fitted the cable/bracket/ramp, everything lines up nicely and just goes in. Bad news; The N/A cable is too long, so will need to make another. Good news; I have shimmed the top idler pulley to run true. Bad news, the new belt is still too short and have found the steel OE idler pulley on the tensioner is about 25thou out of round, see the chatter it's causing @ 9 seconds. David P
Thank you for the compliment. That's typical progress, doing two jobs allowed me to find that there are actually three more jobs to do to get to where I thought I was going to get to. I don't like the gas strut tensioner either, so making an adjustable spring loaded Mk2. Aiming for 14psi aren't you david on stock HG? Gonna be evil... with stock compression so no low comp lag and a charger kicking in low, this thing is gonna be nuts. Are you going to be doing ride's at Pod David?

David P
H.T. 'Force' is strong in me and leads are off the list. Before: Coil to distributor not long enough and 3 plug leads too long After: The shortened plug leads lay much better Coil lead replaced with longer and rerouted to clear supercharger snout and throttle mechanism Tight & tidy on the pre 92 V6 4Runner cap makes space for supercharger snout Edited February 15, 2014 by David P (see edit history)
David P
A couple of jobs off the list posted a couple of posts ago and a few hard-earned bits & bobs & things & stuff compiled again. David P
I have discovered that a friends uncle has the correct crimping tool for the old type of connectors and using that it was easy-peasy. David P
The weather was too bad to work outside on the car today, so I tinkered about inside the workshop and fabricated the secondary tensioner from the components pictured a post or three before. David P
The secondary "custom made" tensioner fits and functions nicely, It will need a guide to keep the spring straight under tension and a couple of nylocks for the final fit. Throttle cable Mk2 is off the job list too. Edited March 18, 2012 by David P (see edit history)
