David P
What you doing with the small vent? I was going to bin it, but if you want it, it's your's. Pre-paint snap of the under-side, with hole for charge-cooler swirl-pot cap and lid for cold-air box Pre paint pic The second rattle-can was a dud, but you get the idea Edited October 21, 2012 by David P (see edit history)

David P
Thank you for the compliments, I'm keen to see what it looks like on the car. My lungs survived but my bad back is screaming. It could do with a little more tinkering around the bulge but my back say's STOP, so that will get done when the car is resprayed. If either the bonnet/mould or the vent is of use to anyone, ask and it's yours, collection only for the bonnet please. David P
I decided I could do without criticism, so my screaming back lost the argument and have spent the day titivating the bulge to perfection whilst sat on a chair. Will fit and photograph it tomorrow. Edited October 23, 2012 by David P (see edit history)

TheTurtleshead
That bonnet really is excellent David, nice work getting the contour right as well, lets hope it fits! You appear to have created what might be the only tasteful aftermarket bonnet ever to grace a supra! (Except maybe the TS) Maximum kudos from over here! You appear to have created what might be the only tasteful aftermarket bonnet ever to grace a supra! (Except maybe the TS) Maximum kudos from over here! Bulging the bonnet has been at the bottom of the list for so long, I've had plenty of time to work out how I wanted it to look. Getting it right will make it, getting it wrong would break it. I've never attempted a job like this before, but thought it through and all went remarkably well, thank you. Some day, I plan to design and make my own skirts too, because I think all available look pants. thats gonna look awesome mate, you must be well chuffed with your work cant wait to see this build in person sometime The loose ends of the Project are coming together now, thank you. Don't just look at it, I'll Ziiip you up to Warp Factor 4. Edited October 22, 2012 by David P (see edit history)
mellonman
dave i know you are having trouble with belt slip, have you tried a belt spray to conditionn the belts ? something like this http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://rocol.com/uploads/crop_image/300/214/20120423165726_beltdressingspray.jpg%3Fx%3D90%26y%3D-2%26w%3D116%26o%3D300%3F&imgrefurl=http://rocol.com/products/view/12/belt-dressing-spray&usg=__eopBH9VMRXZsQhEnwOCAYQf0YSI=&h=214&w=300&sz=18&hl=en&start=4&zoom=1&tbnid=i3pxFmNs8_Zr9M:&tbnh=83&tbnw=116&ei=xjeGUIqgF8SQhQees4CADA&prev=/search%3Fq%3Dbelt%2Bslip%2Bspray%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26safe%3Dactive%26tbm%3Disch&um=1&itbs=1 i see the air conditioning boys use it all the time on v belts and does actually work there are loads of differnt types, and well the less stress you put on that sc drive saft the better
David P
If it was a 'little-bit' of slip then I would have tried it. After I have maximised the wrap it should be fine, but if it has a 'little-bit' of slip left in it, I'll give it a squib of that stuff. Shane
I have to say David, the photos look great and very much worth the effort. It would have been so easy to graft in a off the shelf scoop, but this looks so much better than that option. I hope to have the disc you require by the weekend, or at the latest by the beginning of next week, no promises but looks hopeful. What OS has the machine got on it now? David P
Just picked up the new supercharger from the Engineer, it's bottom has been planed and the threads drilled and tapped for the studs.
