TT Paul
as title suggest when driving slowly and light braking, they squeak.. haven't strip and cleaned yet just wondered if thats all they need or any parts missing from picture springs etc discs are smooth so are pads thanks
Dnk
Get the brake cleaner out, take the pads out, give them a good clean around the piston seals and where the pads sit, after this have a good look at the outer seals on the pistons for any holes or for the seals starting to perish. Clean the pad pins and pads then rebuild with some copperslip on the backs and edges of the pads and a smear on the pins.

Graham S
Should they not have the little metal springy thing in there? Bugger, i'm trying to think of their proper name! Basically it's the C kind of shaped thing? Didn't Geo have this issue a short time ago and post up pics of all the bits?
Dnk
i have noticed some splits in the outer seals guess the dust gets in and causing noise and will need refurb?? You need to refurb them and fit new outer seals as sooner or later moisture, dirt etc will get behind the seal and cause the pistons to seize. If left for too long the pistons will become pitted and will also need to be replaced. OE Seal kits from Toyota are approx £50 to do both uk spec front calipers Edited November 18, 2010 by Dnk (see edit history)
