Toyota Celica ST182 For Breaking

A few weeks ago Tigger phoned me on her way home from work to say there was a loud bang and the brakes on the car stopped working. She was a mile away from home so I went and swapped cars and limped the Celica home. Now the brakes did work, just not very well, and it was obvious from the horrible grinding noise that something really wasn't right! When I got it home and took the wheel off.... well....

So I take it all apart to find the JV-joint had snapped because the wheel bearing had collapsed because the hub was excessively worn. :( Getting new parts to fix it will cost more than the car is worth, so I've been hunting for replacement bits from scrappies for the last couple of weeks. Every time I find one they have either already sold it or (a few days after taking my money!) have to refund me because the parts are 'damaged' when they come to take them off.

So I've decided enough is enough. It's not worth the hassle trying to fix it so I'm going to scrap it. That is unless anyone wants to buy it to break it for parts? I'm open to any offers, but be warned the wheel in question doesn't turn very well at all so it will need towing away with the front wheels off the ground.

Here are some pictures from before it broke. Anyone interested just let me know.

That's a kind offer, but he if you took a bag off harribo as payment by the time I've got the car to me it'll be more cost then I'm willing to pay now.

Does anyone frequent the Celica forums and fancy posting a link to here? I have my own account but I'm a stalker and think it's a bit rude to have my opening thread "Hi, anyone interesting in buying this?"

hey mawby, there are a few breakers of the celica on the GT4oc.net forum. its worth sending them a PM but honestly dont expect a big £ pricetag because parts for the non-turbos are very very cheap now.

later on ill jump up onto the forum and post this link for you there.

as for the parts your looking for, there are tonnes on that forum for that car. you can get full subframes with everything bolted to it for like £150! i saw a complete celica rear axle with diff, shafts and mounts for £170 and thats for the GT4 turbo! chase down a member named 'nokia-aid' he is a big breaker and hes on ebay as well.
