j_jza80
Ok, so I've changed my mind like 100 times already today on what to do with the car :S I know i don't want to sell it because the shell is in good condition and to find a TT like this shell would be probably 10k so that's out. Next idea is the one i'm sort of leaning towards which is Nic's plan of dropping in a GTE (thanks for that link btw very helpful) I sort of thought about putting pistons in but then i still have the problem of having the dizzy in the way if i get bored and want to go mental with the turbo size. If i bought something like this: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Toyota-2JZGTE-Engine-complete-ancillaries-twin-turbo-/250693981717?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3a5e869615#ht_6748wt_1026 Low mileage and c/w loom and ECU etc. What else would be needed for the swap assuming i already have a 6 speed? thanks for your help so far guys btw, very helpful You could buy a TT Toyota Soarer for £1k, and swap the 1JZ into your Supra It may 'only' be a 2.5, but has 280hp and is pretty much as tuneable as a 2JZ. Littlenum has been using one with the W58 and it's been reliable apparently. They also sound nicer than a 2JZ

Wouldn't the engine swap be more difficult though as surely the engine and loom wouldn't be a straight fit? And sound nicer than 2JZ?? I don't believe this for a minute , this is the sweetest sounding thing I've heard in my life...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FJ2AcCtKj6U Now you can't tell me it's better than that?? Homer
If you are looking for a genuine 500+rwhp the only option that makes any financial sense in the mid-long term sense is to swap the GE motor to a GTE one. The Aristo swap can be a pain as you'll need to swap the sump out for a supra one and fix the wiring problems. If you are good at DIY then it's not such an issue. The costs of fitting the required fueling, engine management, boost control, exhaust, intercooler, mapping, etc make the swap to a GTE lump insignificant in the first place. It a complete no-brainer if you want this level of HP. A turbo on a GE motor is compromised in so many areas it makes no financial sense if you plan on mid to high end HP and potential future increases
Morpheus
You could just chuck one of these in if you want it to sound nice! Can't beat a V8 I say and it's a Lexus 1UZ FE. cRU2lDCSfBU

Yea thanks, pretty much decided on the full engine swap now, i really don't like the manifold sitting on top of the engine and would have spent £600-700 on getting a FFIM so it makes sense for an extra £500 i could have a low mileage TT lump Just ordered my coilovers as well, this could be a good week

David P
Hi everyone, I am going to be upgrading my Supra NA to an NA-T over the winter and I just have a few questions for you experienced people If i get a decent sized turbo (i.e. Precision 6765 billet) how do you get around the distributor? Do you weld on a TT cam sensor bracket and go for coil packs, or is there a smaller distributor cap i can run? or maybe the turbo will clear the cap anyway? Thanks in advance for your help or suggestions It's not the turbo that will catch, it's the air filter. I use a rav 4 v6 dizzy. They are much thinner. ... Thanks for the Rav 4 idea Steve You ask a question, I provide the answer complete with pic and part number. You ignore it, take the wrong advice and give thanks! You will do very well on here.
