Matt T
Im very suprised theres nothing quicker than this. I remember seeing it at Santa Pod a couple of years ago. Alot of the Yank draggers refused to enter because they didnt like the rules, looks like they dont know what a real street car is
TLicense
When they say street car, what differs it from cars like AEM's 6 second civic?
Matt T
When they say street car, what differs it from cars like AEM's 6 second civic? Im not sure on the AEM's spec, but for the above event the car must be totally road legal, road tyres, pump gas, mot etc...
Syed Shah
yeah that was in the regs of the competition. That pic says otherwise. DOT marked perhaps, but not exactly a road tire. People ran similar at TOTB and were b*tched about.
Matt T
That pic says otherwise. DOT marked perhaps, but not exactly a road tire. People ran similar at TOTB and were b*tched about. The tyre is legal to use on the road, hence a road legal one, i really dont get the fuss about semi slicks etc.... as long as the tyre is legal to use on the road it is road legal, yes its pushing the boundary of legal, ut it still is and so within the regs. Syed Shah
I don't see the fuss eirther, stuff like that suits the Supra too! But some people do.....
Tricky
1.25 seconds that’s mad! My mates got a 1974 ford cortina! He did have an XR4x4 engine in it board out to 4.7 or summit with twin turbos and a super charger and NOZ built it himself totally! It was road legal and was a proven 720hp, and 58psi boost! He only paid £64 per year insurance on it too and that was fully comp, with everything declared! But he said it wasn’t fast enough! 0-60 in 2.8seconds! (which compared to that cali is slow but compared to a GSXr1000 is about the right going!) lol anyway last time I saw him, he was dropping that engine for an 11litter chavy big block with only rear wheel drive! he said he wanted to go a bit quicker and pop wheelies! day job??????? lawn mower repair man! insane! lol Tricky
JohnA
And I think that Vauxhall Calibra Body on a full tube chassis 706ci (11.5 ltr) Alluminium Big Block Engine Is the big give away ...Yank set up with Calibra body I've seen it at the Pod, too. It's a spaceframe around a bigblock. The only resemblance to the Calibra is the shape of the fiberglass. Not a single bolt is related to a Calibra, let alone tx box as somenone commented, get real... Bobbeh
I'd rather people NOT know about the Supra I was pissed that TFAFT made it more desirable/known to the general pleblic.
