barneybrendan
as title says my discs have gone rusty from where the car is stood idle, but after rubbing them down i have noticed some pitting in a couple areas. Its not very deep and the discs dont seem very well used as there is no lip on them at all. Chris Wilson
I have always found discs are much better if blanchard ground, and I don't skim them any more. You can skim or grind grooved discs, the grooves get shallower, of course... There should be a minimum disc thickness stamped on the rims somewhere. Dnk
As CW says grinding is the best route, just dont go below the min disc thickness, i use a center grinder with a mag chuck attachment, do both faces in one hit
Jay_vr6
Sorry to thread hijack, I have some ebc grooved discs I managed to warp within the first 1000miles, they now make great paper weights as I can find no one locally to skim them. I just get told a large NO! so do you gents know of anywhere I can send these discs to be sorted ?
Dnk
I'd just buy some o/e discs and keep your ebc for propping the door open, i could get them done for you but with postage cost to B'ham it wouldnt be worth it
Jay_vr6
I have oe discs on already but did want to use the ebc discs again, rather than throwing them away after the money they cost. expensive door stops
snake
Try and find a local engineering company near you with a ring grinder, they don't take that long to do.
