bodilx6
Does the supra have an OBD-II port? If so, will it work with for example Innovate Motorsports WiFi connection, so you can monitor all kinds of things through and iPhone? Clever stuff, that I would love since I already have a nice iPhone setup in the car as well as a LM-1 wideband sensor.
jackso11
Nope Possibly a very late facelift but not many of them. We have a random diagnostic port that nobody has been able to make a connector for. Nic
Non-VVTi is OBD-I, VVTi is OBD-II
Tricky-Ricky
Also none of the Innovate stuff will read Japanese JOBD2, much to my disappointment when i bought a twin sensor LM-2 set up for my Skyline 350GT:complain:

Chris Wilson
It's not industry standard OBDII, I have only found one code reader that works properly, thanks to having a pal in the diagnostics game I got to try virtually every code reader on sale in the UK Needless to say it's an expensive one.... Will actuate and test all the sequential controls as well as giving real time readouts and reading all the codes correctly, though
Tricky-Ricky
I ended up buying something similar but Nissan only, it dose all the test procedures and has real time logging. j_jza80
Non-VVTi is OBD-I, VVTi is OBD-II What about late NAs? Are they still on OBD-I or did they change?

jon_dragon
I want to bring this one back to life again. Theres an app for iphone/ipad called DashCommand, its £29.99 and it does everything you could possibly want but only through an OBDii port (possibly via bluetooth) Ive got a pre-facelift N/A and was wondering: whats that plug for just above my knees when im satin the drivers seat? Is that the diagnostic port or would it be to presumptuous to guess its the one next to my inlet manafold? If so, is there a toyota (jobd2?) to OBDii converter? If I can get this going Im going to build an IPad into my car somewhere! http://www.soarerworld.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=10637&stc=1&d=1149099242 Ive got a feeling this is where I need to be and all I need is an OBDi to OBDii converter Edited March 5, 2011 by jon_dragon (see edit history)

Chris Wilson
It appears the Supra doesn't use a true OBDII protocol. VERY VERY few diagnostic readers will talk to it, and those that will are expensive ones from abroad. Let us know how you get on but I suspect it won't work. jon_dragon
also, turns out these wifi OBDii adaptors are quite expensive. Cool as it might be, I might give this a miss. More important things to spend money on at the moment.
jon_dragon
Awesome, turns out my girlfriend is gonna get one of the new ipads when they come out. Shes also getting the wifi-OBDii dongle to make this work in her FTO. Ill keep you all posted how we get on...
RobSheffield
Jon, the NA and TT non VVti are OBD1, but good luck with the FTO.

samdale
Few years gone by.....anyone had any luck with this? Only thing I've heard of (and had some success with myself) is using the torque app and a Bluetooth OBD2 dongle. Vvti only though
