Sadly yes with my Turbo'd 2.0L New Beetle back in 2001, was quite a laugh doing the shoot. Also had shoots back then with Redline magazine and Performance VW too.

I'll see if I can dig it out, still got the car, it's been in one of my lock ups for about 7 years now!

Oh the shame. No wonder you kept it in a lock up after that! ;)

i'll be honest... its sad to see it go i think there will be people that wont own up. But when i was younger and had my fiesta i bought this all the time.... its a great way of getting into tuning cars rather than jumping in the deep end randomly when you get older....

R.I.P to a classic mag and i'll be buying the last issue as i was a Max Power fan all those years ago

I was at a track day run in conjunction with that rag, years ago. One of the magazine staff asked if I'd take some sleazy looking foreign bint round for a few laps. I asked how much she'd pay towards track time costs, fuel and wear and tear. He seemed horrified until I explained she was presumably being paid to stand around with little on, looking like she was doing an honest hooker out of a day's work, and I had a similar business outlook. He looked like this was the first time anyone had explained the facts of life to him quite so clearly, and the bint looked like she'd like to knife me.... I can be a bit of *astard at times ;) The magazine was total dross, a virtual comic for retards, IMHO.

What is you chatting bout bruv? Max Power was full of like well sick rides all blinged out innit?! Brrrrraaapp!!!!! ;)

Max Power was famous for it's chav chariots and women with their t!ts out, but when you're a teen that's what is popular :D It's only now when your older a lot of us will look back on the magazine and laugh. It was mostly full of rubbish, but I think I'll miss it even though I haven't read one in years. RIP Max Power :D

I can proudly say I've never bought a Max Power, but I did look through it when I was a teen, utilising the resources of WH Smith's Library.

Max Power was for the generation that loved 'hot hatches', your Saxos and Novas. Didn't often see anything with more grunt that a Calibra.

Moding hatches nowadays is less fashionable because they come out of the factory in decent shape. There's less 'improvements' that can be done. They already have body coloured bumpers, HIDs, a decent stereo (inbuilt so its hard to alter anyway). alloy wheels and a fancy exhaust.
