Alarm system issues on a J-tin mk4

Hey guys,

This would be my first post here and my first supra (12/10/2010 purchase)

I absolutialy love the soups to death and strongly think this will be a car i am going to cherrish for a long long time. i have always been a afan of jap motors and have owned many b-series engines in different states but the time came for the move to toyota :)

Ok so onto the question.

I have an alarm fitted to the car which i know was installed in jpn before the import. The key fob lights up when any button is pressed but it does nothing at all for the alarm. on the dash is a small dome shaped sensor and a series of 5 LEDS in a small box. none of the leds flash nor do the doors lock or unlock.

I have been told that i will have a valet swich hidden from view somewhere but i am unable to find this. i have stripped the (easy) sections of the dash board and traced out many of the wires (siren, leds) and they lead back to a box that has CEP printed on it?!

the key fob has no brand name or numbers on it but the buttons hint towards it having a remote start button?!

Any help is much apreciated!!
