AndrewOW
My brake and reversing lights are working fine, though. Any ideas, as someone has just pointed it out to me while driving today. I'm parked up at the moment, so any advice would be good. Could it be a fuse, if so which one?
Kirk
If it was a fuse it would knock out the front and rear so id put my money on a bulb or bad earth.
AndrewOW
Would one dead bulb take out all of them though? They were all working the other evening, as I saw them reflecting in a shop window?
AndrewOW
I've now replaced the fuse and all four bulbs, but still nothing. All other lights work, except a front side light. They aren't connected in any way, are they?
AndrewOW
Taken to my local garage for them to have a look, and see if it's fixable in the day. Fingers crossed. I think it's down to some dodgy wiring in the aftermarket facelift sidelights, that's caused the gradual loss of all the sidelights over the past 4 years! TrickTT
As standard, all the sidelights and the front fog lights work from one fuse in the footwell. I had a problem with the front fog light relay recently which also resulted in the loss of all the sidelights.
DARETT
Is the interior dash light working? I had a similar issue which was down to a relay problem. The rear tail-lights, and interior dash lights wouldn't work though.
AndrewOW
As standard, all the sidelights and the front fog lights work from one fuse in the footwell. I had a problem with the front fog light relay recently which also resulted in the loss of all the sidelights. That's interesting, as the fog light switch was on, but no fog lamps either (they are all wired into the rear lights cluster). One front sidelight is working, but it's been a gradual loss of the others as maybe the bad earth, or wiring has corroded enough for it to cause a short or something. Is the interior dash light working? I had a similar issue which was down to a relay problem. The rear tail-lights, and interior dash lights wouldn't work though. All the dashlights work, and one front sidelight working. It's a tad odd.
AndrewOW
Well, I have now found out that it's the bulb failure warning module that's burnt out because of bad wiring from the installation of the facelift sidelights/indicators, etc, which is going to set me back about £300 including fitting! I also found this very old thread that also mentions the problem I've got. http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?6576-Poxy-Lights.!!!!!&highlight=bulb+failure+module Two days off the road too, unfortunately.
