Climate control gremlins.....SER II 1999

G'day from DownUnder,

I have a SER II (1999) model, and have some "isseus" with the climate control.

1. In manual mode, I cannot change from Fresh to Recirculate or vice versa (however increasing the temp will change it, and decreasing it will change it back !!!)

2. I am unable to run the diagnostics - Both double buttons pressed, ignition to on, and nothing, it just goes to the default setting.

3. Also in Manual mode I am unable to select Feet/Face option and the feet/demist option either. Auto mode is fine for feet/face, but not for the feet/demist.

All other actions work fine (Auto mode), so it has be somewhat frustrated, as to what is going on ?

I pulled apart both the CCU and ACPA modules, no dry joints and all componenet checked out OK. wiring shows no tempering and all continuity checks are OK as well.

Faulty CCU and/or AC Power Amplifier ?

Any advice/feedback would be greatly appreciated.

All sorted, it was the AC Amplifier (box on top of the Head Unit).

Symptoms are - Can't change from fresh to recirculate unless using the temp dial and/or unable to get into the diagnostic mode.

No worries Phil,

I noticed you UK guys have similar symptoms, one member even posted a video of the problem.

Contrary to previous advice, the AC amplifier has "logic" as well as the CCU.

Cheers,

Sel
